@red devil my horween horsehide boots were 385 bucks from Errol Shipler. Honcho is made in el paso different from Hondo made in Mexico. Different companies

I pic toe style, heel, scallop, stitch pattern, narrowed shaft, shaft height, pull tab style, sole, etc. can be all specified. Exotics a little more money

That seems like great value, tempted to get an daily wearer from them. If I understood correctly, you are very happy with the boots, from comfort to construction for what you paid, correct?

Yes I like them a lot. I am sure they are not on par with high end makers but these are no where near that price. And construction is solid and all leather lined. As well as the horsebutt being actually horween horsehide per honcho. Once broken in they mold to your feet nicely and are quite comfortable. Next pair coming have a leather midsole and vibram western sole simply because of the climate im in lotta snow, ice, etc. they might be a little heavier but not by much. I am used to whites and wesco weight so im not worried about that. They have been impacted by covid quite a bit and my order is taking a while. May end up being closer to 4-6 months. I like the 5 toe and 2 heel. I certainly could pull off a more traditional cowboy toe and heel and may end up going with that too.

I’ve never owned any Chelsea’s and I’m not a huge Thursday fan. But I’ve found a pair of Thursday Chelsea’s in what I think would be my size. Anyone own any and have an opinion on how they fit? TTS, small, big? Thanks if anyone does know.

Neither. Lee Miller of Texas Traditions in Austin. He's got a 4 year waiting list. He's considered one of the finest, if not the finest, bootmaker in the US. His work is incredible.

Just requested to follow him and look forward to seeing his work, it's always great to find new makers. I'm not too versed in cowboy boots but can always appreciate craftsmanship. One of my favorite cowboy makers is Lisa Sorrell based out of Oklahoma. She does such expectational work that she is in a different league. Now her prices are too in a different league starting at $10k

I am getting quite heated about boots since I ordered the Benzein chelsea

So onderhoud is knowm for engineers and the monkey boots? How does he compare to Benzein?

Nice thing about Benzein is availability compared to Onderhoud. They use very similar leathers and seem to be making at about the same level, maybe giving Onderhoud the slight advantage. Now personally I think the engineer from Onderhoud is the best coming out of Indonesia. His engineer just seems to have the perfect proportions and for such a good price. I own a pair of Benzeins and they are my best fitting boots that I own and can't recommend them enough. Something of similar quality and materials used would easily cost 2x more in most other places, especially in N. America.
