These just arrived. Ignore my dogs bed and toys in the background, looking for the best lighting in the house as it’s very dark here in Buffalo already. Sierra had Red Wing Engineers in Black Klondike for 149. Of course they are seconds but upon inspecting them I see a few scuffs but nothing that would be defective or an issue. That’s 179-ish off normal retail for a scuff or two, and in one of their best leathers, I’m taking that all day. Looks like they still have some left. Just checked but only for sizes 7-8.5
If that’s you for 149 you can’t go wrong.

I’ve decided I want to buy a pair of Type 3 and/or Boondockers and it seems for the cheaper yet accurate models At The Front gets the best reviews. I just want a pair to dub myself. I actually had a pair of muleskinners I was going to do it to but decided I liked them too much that way. There’s way more expensive options and then really cheap **** ones. Which is why I’m pretty sure ATF is the way to go. Don’t want a super expensive pair and then feel like I ruined them or want them back to original after dubbing. The super cheap will just fall apart. Anyone on here have any ATF to review? I know Impressions and S@M Wholesale are options but they weren’t as highly rated as ATF from what I could find.

I think both ATF and WW2 Impressions are made by Corcoran, so the only issue is accuracy like the number of eyelets, the sole etc.

RMWs have been my jam for the past decade (plus a few service boots and packers), but I’m really digging the engineers these days. I’m thinking about ordering a second pair of Wesco’s in an 8” with MP toe or maybe trying Prof Barnett. I’m a EEE width so most Japanese makers are out of contention.
