Wow! one of the best jackets I've seen. Awesome wear on the leather.

Yeah the battered steer is nice soft leather. Developing lots of character too, getting a fair bit of wear at the mo because pretty cold here.

J Chisholm boots just arrived off of eBay. First western boots for me. Feels great. Heel is pretty high so these aren’t for long distance walking but damn they look cool.

Thanks brother! No looking back. Normal shoes/boots feel boring now. Still looking for a nice pair in something exotic. Alligator tail or something would be cool. These are 9.5 D and fit me well.

Sometimes it's good to try something new. Cowboy boots are new to me.

These RRL roughout boots were made in Texas by Rios of Mercedes. The vegetable tanned roughout leather is said to be sourced from Ralph Lauren's cattle ranch in Colorado. I don't know whether that's true or not -it sounds like something the marketing department made up - but the roughout sure is nice. It features two inch Cuban heels and bark-tanned leather outsoles.

I got a bit carried away with the western theme when I bought this studded belt and hand painted native American vest.

These handmade Luccheses are my second pair of cowboy boots. Made in 2009 but very low mileage. Great attention to detail with the elaborate western stitch pattern on the shafts (with actual cording) and the pull straps with overlay.

As compared to my other pair, the Rios of Mercedes roughout cowboy boots, these luccheses definitely have an edge in terms of construction quality / attention to detail. Note how the welt is attached to the sole, the pull straps and the neatness of the stitching. Overall the luccheses are just a bit more fancy.

Nice contrast on that Heritage pair. I've included my burgundy Jay Butler loafers, my Anderson Bean (Texas) boots, and finally my Guess vintage jacket. The jacket was a found item for 35 or 40 clams.

I often visit my buddies in El Paso. Let me know, I can stop at the shop for a custom job? LOL. El Paso used to be filled up with mom and pop's boot makers. I still have some Lucchese purchased in San Antonio back in the day when they were there.
