Fit Check for next Aero Leather Half Belt

Hey everyone,

I'd appreciate your opinions on the fit of my Aero Half Belt Deluxe.

I intentionally went for a slightly roomier fit, as I want to be able to wear a thick sweater underneath during the winter months. Ideally, this jacket should work both over a T-shirt and as a proper winter jacket with heavier layers underneath.

I'm mainly curious to hear what you think about the overall fit and whether you see anything that could be improved or adjusted.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Firstly,

Secondly, I think it looks too big tbh. It looks really spacious even over the thick sweater you've got on.

Interesting that in your post you don't say what you think of the fit. Do you like it? Is it comfortable? Can you layer it with everything you might want to wear under it?

If it satisfies what you were looking for then it doesn't matter what anybody else says about it. It's your jacket.

The only thing it needs to do is be comfortable and make you feel happy to wear it.

For me, the jacket is very comfortable and can even be worn over a heavy sweater—meaning it works in winter, too. I do feel there’s a lot of leather visible from the back, but then again, I’ve only been wearing the jacket for about 30 days. I also briefly considered ordering a "Plainsman," but I don’t think that particular style would be very comfortable to wear over a thick sweater. A size 40 in the "Half Belt" model would likely be a tight fit...

It’s not easy to see as there’s no side photo but in the rear view one judging by how much of each strap is showing it looks like you may have them cinched up pretty tight.
If so, this can lead to the top half of a jacket ballooning out, which then makes the overall look too large.
Try slackening the straps a bit so that the waist isn’t so pinched to see if that makes any difference.

The leather jacket that looks good with a t shirt and a heavy shirt is a myth.
Yah, I've thought about that lately as I've selected the pieces for my collection. Normally, a jacket can either be a slim-fitting piece that fits nicely over a t-shirt, or has room for a shirt plus a thick sweater - not both.

Though a sales rep at a local store is trying to combine the two by buying a slim fitting jacket that he will layer a lot underneath, just never zip the jacket closed...

RE: the OP, I think the problem appears more readily from the back, where the shoulders/sides are very roomy, with too much excess around those sections. The jacket hide itself is quite nice, it just seems like its a size too big for you IMO. But if you are comfortable in it, as mentioned above - keep it.
