Some nice car coats that I've come across during my search for getting one myself.
All prices without any campaigns or negotations, so you can potentially get these down 10-20% more.
If I manage to decide which one then I'll likely grab one of these next month when the funds trickle in.

Y2 HC-82 size 38 (more like a 36 I guess) for ~520eur:

Aero Veste de Rallye size 34 (so more like a 36-38) for ~310eur:

SUGAR CANE SC80498 size 38 for ~330eur:

I guess you could argue that Aero is the safest bet with the lowest price and potentially highest resale value, but it's likely the heaviest one too. Y2 is probably their nicest car coat model but the price is a bit on the steep side. Sugar Cane is the least well know and lowest resale value I guess, but it looks nice and light + lovely corduroy lining.

Any opinions on which one I should go for? Feel free to grab something from under my nose to make it easier for me haha.
I’ll drop a vote for the Y2. I actually like those pockets best!

Thank you! I've been looking for a cheap CHP in my size forever and the seller took $225. The zipper and missing belt loops are unfortunate but I need more excuses to practice sewing anyway
Nice Cal! I think it's made of cowhide, but it's a cool piece anyway.

Good luck fixing that zipper -maybe finding an insert pin from a donor zipper and reinstalling it would do the trick.

Anyone have experience with these? Looks nice and a great deal! Tempted.

I had the identical jacket nearly 50 years ago. Wore it a LOT. The cut was athletic, comfortable, and looked great w/ a pair of Angel's Flight pants at the time but the cut of the jacket seemed best paired with a high waisted trouser and would seem even more so by current standards.

I had the jacket before I started paying attention to quality and detail so as much as I can tell you about either was that it was comfortable for someone that got a lot of exercise and it was much more durable than I expected. My lifestyle at the time was pretty rough and tumble; hook er on a city league rugby team, boxing club membership, a karate school, worked in a warehouse, rode a motorcycle, my summer roommates were union strikebreakers and college wrestlers the rest of the year, etc. I wasn't gentle on my stuff and remember being a little surprised that it was so soft yet didn't seem as damage prone as its delicate feel led me to assume. I wore that jacket rain or shine and it looked storied and lived in but held up curiously well.

Five bucks says there's likely a significant pharma and other residue on that old jacket. Probably best that it can't talk.

^^ That's pretty neat. Looks well pre-loved.

I think a wash in a tub or even on the delicate setting in your machine should do it, then slowly re-hydrate with a product such as Horseman's "one step". Just do not use your machine dryer - just hang it and let it slowly dry for a day or two. You can let a fan blow on it, just try not to let it "over-dry" too quickly and may come out like rawhide.
