Looks like a great jacket for a great price (and measurements look perfect for me on paper, although hard to say anything about the waist and bottom hem width).
The main thing that concerns me is the leather near the shoulder / collar / upper back area. Looks to be in rough shape?

It does have an interesting collar you are right.
I'll see if I can get better pictures of those areas of the jacket, but it does look sketchy to me. Although the leather of the rest of the jacket looks fantastic so leather rot doesn't seem very likely. Unless some humidity was sitting on top of the jacket while it was hanging?

I think you’ve answered your own question! FWIW, without exception the most cracked, flaking leather I have ever received on misguided eBay purchases has been CXL FQHH Aeros. I know many people love it but I wouldn’t get anything used in this leather without very clear pics or an ironclad returns policy.

If it is it is the only place I can remember seeing it on a jacket (shoulders/collars).

And yes @unhatted I have also generally seen it on that type of hide for some reason
