Oh, and by the way, these won't fall apart without the staples. They're stitched together with another layer of leather underneath the "seams", as well.

A California Sportswear jacket. I typically think of this label as late 40s. The zipper pull is 50s and appears to be the original zipper. I would guess the stop box has Talon down the middle. This was a common transition set-up. The Talon was dropped from the stop box and the pull became rounded on the edge. The style for this time is a bit odd, looks more like an early 40s look, certainly odd for 1950.

Love the style. I am still in the hunt for one in tan cape skin. I wish David would make one like this in the cape skin. I was lucky to get one of his in a very similar pattern. But would it be nice, he reproduced it? Those Californian pockets! Love what they did in some of their motorcycle jacket. The symmetry gives them the edge in functionality.
