This is the nicest of this style I have seen. As much as I like these, I have never purchased one. Short Wool half-belts, yes.. This Hercules has a fancy back full sewn on half-belt with adjustment straps, Crown Zipper, two button cuffs, with fancy straps

It will sell for much less.
Sold for somewhat less after some clarifying questions. This looks very similar to the Ralphs-Pugh basket case presently on ebay. Incredible 2 early aviators would show up back to back both possible Ralphs-Pugh jackets. The black one has the original label and the Sawyer tanning label. An indication of the high quality leather available to these west coast makers.

They look similar from the front, but are they the same? They have different backs.

What do you all think?

The black one is incredible! And the back is also used on other R-P models. The brown one doesn’t scream R-P to me. Perhaps a Block-bilt or other NorCal maker

No, brown does not scream R-P. They seemed use the low adjustment in this era. Perhaps a reflection of the iconic Hercules is seen there with the fancy back

R-P with three panel back sewn flat, it also has a different front and later label. A "less fancy back"

Later label

I ask a couple of questions got a couple of pics, took a chance. The seller was very nice and responded quickly. Better pictures would have sold the jacket at the original BIN, if the jacket is as she described. I did negotiate a better price. It will not fit me. I guess I got jealous of your jacket!

The zipper is a replacement. I have a correct original.

I've got my fingers crossed on the condition. Seller seemed to understand what I was asking about.
