The last one this size on eBay had an opening bid of $1,500 sold with only one bid. I remember it looked to have less wear than the current jacket.

I'm not in the hunt for this Trojan. I've had a great spring buying, getting some jewels of my own. I look for this jacket in the shadows, so I will wait. I do think it is great opportunity that just doesn't come around and this model is in the radar of many.

It is an interesting label given so few of them seem to surface. Other than the books I don't recall seeing much else on the market. They must have been a small operation. I know I searched the company, I don't know if I came up with much, or much is know. Their jackets just don't show up that I do know.

I do not recall seeing that other Trojan Sale.

There is a lot of interest in this model as done by Lost Worlds. I would think one of those owners would be most interested in this original. Certainly worth the cost of a new Lost Worlds.

If I would have seen this jacket, as listed, for $1500 BIN I would have been counting my coins while someone else was buying it.

Yeah Terry I forgot Jon had said that. With that in mind, there should be an expectation that it’s gonna likely be in that range. I was more surprised by the number of watchers and the vibrant early bidding (considering the auction length) than the price itself.

It is a really cool jacket in a really appealing size.

@jonbuilder The lining in the OG Trojan looks like the stuff used by Star Glove.

This is my favorite jacket. So many little cool details. I love the D pocket shape and back design. LWs pattern works for me no matter if I’m in a t-shirt, layering or carrying. I’d be thinking about this if I wasn’t trying to get into the Austin housing market right now. Rabid animals, mostly from Cali, tearing it up lol. Sort of like the current bidders on this jacket.

Go to post 8946 to see the Trojan that listed and sold for $1,500. It looked to be in excellent shape. The seller originally posted bad measurements but after I contacted him and he corrected the measurements it came to the same size as the current Trojan. Need to remember we do not know how high the winning bid was could have been north of 2K
Also, the seller was a gentleman and said I could return the jacket if the fit did not work out.

I have no idea about this maker but this seller has had some nice looking jackets. Everything looks great in Italy when photographed in front of a canal in Venice. $200 size L.

So sadly, it appears a number of our local champions appear to be sitting this Trojan out. I don't recall seeing one hit the market before and my knowledge of the label comes mostly from LWs use of it. From the look of the Label, with the 'factory direct to you' language seems like it was a small shop as Terry has suggested. Maybe it was a moto gear only establishment??? We have speculated on the potential local USC connection but the Trojan moniker could just as well be coincidence.

Jmax, Austin is CRACKLIN' HOT! Has been for awhile but these low interest rates are making a lot of areas combust. If you are investing and not seeking your own castle, Colorado, particularly southern CO is poppin too. Durango is hot. Texans use parts of Southern Colorado as their escape from the heat. Its hilarious. The Austinites despise the Cali influx while the Colorado people in the South find the Cali people rather benign but resent the hell out of the Texans for using their area as their second homes for when it gets hot. Everyone is hated somewhere in this country!!!!!!!!!!! Its Human Nature!!!!!!!

True. I lived in Denver for three or so years. Heard the pop growth has been steady and strong there too. The riding in CO is outta this world. Austin should not be too shabby, especially when compared to S Florida.

Well, this description is kind of dark:

Quote from the officer’s granddaughter:

“My grandfather, Bobby LaMotta, was a police officer. He served with the Newark Police Department for 16 years and was assigned to the Traffic Division. He was a motorcycle cop. On October 26, 1967, a motorist pulled out in front of my grandfather as he was following two police cars on a call to assist another officer. He was thrown from his motorcycle and over the car with such force that his helmet flew off, giving him no protection when his head hit the pavement. He was rushed to Presbyterian Hospital with massive head injuries where he would succumb to those injuries the following day. He was 45 years old. “

“.....due to the damage on the jacket it is believed to have been worn during his accident.”

I'm a little confused, was the jacket made by a family member? the brand is called Michael LaMotta? and the owner of the jacket who died was Bobby LaMotta?
