Ideal ZZ from, I believe, the late 60s to early 70s -- from what I've come across.

Yessir, you are correct. I have made this mistake before as a tailor I used years ago told me this was a Lenzip and I always remember it as such but it is indeed an Ideal. I went a looked at my zipper pics on jackets I've sold and I list them as Ideals. I just always have that first inclination that these are Lenzips because the ZZ looks like an L to my eye and I always harken back to thinking they are Lenzips. Its an IDEAL for sure. Good catch brother!!!! I stand corrected!!

HAHA, the 42 Roadhouse would fit but I think I would prefer it in 44. No HH, I will fight this urge by wearing the J23 out tonight.

What size is your Roadhouse?

I've been wanting a J23 and its been my new research hunt. What timing! Now who doesn't get a last minute Christmas gift? Lol!

Now its a $500 opening bid instead of the .01. Less competition but more coin to commit. Who else doesn't get a last minute Christmas gift? That's it Christmas is cancelled for everyone but me! Grinch who?

The BIN is very fair too.

Thank you, very helpful comment! Would also love to see you wearing this jacket, how's the arm mobility? Does the halfbelt actually taper in or it's a tube?

I'll post pics asap, might take a few days so I'll better quote you again.

I gotta check on the nipped waist. Mine starts with a form-fitting chest, so it doesn't feel roomy. I'm 37.5" chest, 30" waist and I generally need to cinch the side straps of a standard pattern Aero 30s HB like two thirds (if size 36) or all the way (if size 38).

So I would say the non-cinchable Levis x Aero Rockabilly needs a trim fit from the start to feel well-fitted on an athletic frame. The current Rockafella on the other hand works pretty much like a regular Aero 30s HB except that you either use the one extra button to nip in the waist, or you don't. Nothing in between.

The armskye feels similar to a standard Aero 30s HB (30s HB, Sunburst, Dustbowl, all of which are the same basic pattern). Maybe a little better but not as high as the Premium 30s HB.

I agree with Aero's assessment that the Rockabilli/Rockafella pattern was probably meant for textile jackets only (whipcord, cavalry twill or other hardwearing stuff). Originals of a similar design turn up every now and then, sometimes two-tones as well. But it does wear nicely in the shape of a softer midweight leather such as the one they used for the collab.

Thanks for that! Just did a quick Google search and found one single solitary photo of an Ideal ZZ. I knew Excelled used Ideals back in the day, but I'd never seen the ZZ before. Never registered in my brain, anyway. I couldn't make out the design. (Two 7s? Two Ls? A super fancy Z?) Now I know.

Don't know if you joined up just to answer my question, but if so, a double thank you to you.

The right collar is noticeably larger than left, (it's not a first time I saw this In Their recent product), the jacket doesn't looks like brand new, but still a good deal if the final price is no more than $650.
