What makes you think so? Looks like leather to me, albeit not a very high quality kind. Could be nylon, though.

Next to no grain. Someone posted on the Schott forum about a “pleather” Beck that looks identical.

I think it is the “professional cleaning” and poor picture quality that’s raising doubts. If interested, hopefully he can send better pictures.
