As far as I know, Zero-King Sportswear was a line sold by Marshall Fields Department Store. The Stores are out of Chicago where they had their flagship location. It was a big retailer back in their day apparently. There is a long history of the company changing hands several times over the years as I recall. I have a vintage Zero-King but I have very very rarely seen the brand much. This may be like, the 3rd or 4th time I've ever seen one of their jackets. Not claiming they're ultra rare per se, but at the very least they are not very prevalent.

just received an offer from seller for $150-seems to be in very nice condition for its age

I had a couple of conversations with the seller. Confirmed the jacket is Black. I have a Horsehide Hercules A2 in Black and only seen a couple of others. Not sure I have seen a black Hercules in Steerhide. The jacket looks to be in excellent condition. Steerhide from the 50s can be really tough stuff.

I think it is a good buy at the offer. I've got a couple of bids in, so I'm out of the running for now.

It's too small for me. Hopefully someone will benefit. Thanks for the background.

I'm on the Fence when it comes to Grais. Some look great, others look like they used cheap leather.
Cheap leather and about two dozen little scraps of it sewn together into a jacket shape. But then sometimes you come across a really nice one that makes you stop and take a breath. I can't figure Grais out. Did they make jackets in various quality tiers and at different price points? Did the quality just change over time?
