Not sure if anyone from Filson, or a similar company, reads these forums at all. But if they do - consider making a similar new jacket like this today. Especially with such nice color-block patterns as this one has. I personally think it will sell well, and I would consider one (especially if it could have a liner).
Isn't Filson just a fashion brand these days? I'd say one of the Japanese makers would be more likely to tackle a project like this, possibly already have.

25" p2p HH windward highwayman. I would be all over this if it were like 2-2.5" longer. I really like this pattern

That is an interesting jacket, I would like to understand the color better. I've never seen a Windward labeled jacket like this, caught my eye too. Mid 50s. Probably California Sportswear, the shoulders, the gathered sides, same back they used with different fronts. CSC was making jackets for Sears at the same time as this Windward, I've seen JC Penney from this time from CSC.

Japanese and other makers have taken a stab at this style. I've owned several from Japan, one from England, American. The Japanese reproductions were the best and they actually make some wild leather/wool combos, but few of them are above a size 40.

The originals, like this Big Yank, in a half-belt style were sold in all the catalogs from the late 30s to the late 40s. Different weights of wool were advertised.

The repros just dont draw much interest. I love the look.
