corduroy-lined taubers cross-zip, tagged 44 but chest measures in around 48". I would buy this if it were a smidge longer, despite the high price

I had the same jacket, purchased new in 2002 from US-Made Middletown, MA - but it was at a shop in the Chicago area. Long since sold off. Funny, but since Fox Creek, TRD Leathers, US-Made Co. and even Branded carry such similar jackets, I wonder if there is an umbrella company making all of these and just labeling each for the respective vendor?

I know for a fact branded was run by one guy in long island city. I found his name once on LLC documents and he still has an etsy store where he offers custom work. I think it may be an example of parallel evolution or similar influences rather than a single maker.

I had made to measure (bespoke) leather trousers made by TT leathers around 1986. I was having a go at production motorcycle racing at the time. Single guy OBVIOUSLY !
Made with the pre-bent racing crouch and went inside boots.
Quality kit that could meet pre race scrutineering.
I still have them now. 40+ years on.
Made to measure for some skinny Guinea haha...
Waist would be 6 inches shy of closing.
My wife said many years ago
"You should sell those now".
I said "they'll fit me again".
After lapband surgery perhaps haha.
From memory they were made in the Isle of Man.

Relatively large pit to pit for a 42 of the era. Do you know if they just tend to run larger or is there a fit quirk that makes them fit tighter than that would suggest?

I had one in size 40. That one had a hug taper to the hem, which sits at the waist. Don’t size down on these, there’s a huge risk the hem will be too tight unless you have an insanely v-shaped body.

may be a bad measurement? given the price I imagine someone will roll the dice ;)

Thanks, both. The taper would be ok for me, I think, but I checked in with the seller and they said the measurements were accurate so I'll leave it for someone else to snag.

Out of all the jackets I've owned this particular Windward is among my favorites. This was a popular style made my Roughwear Clothing Co starting in the late 30s through the mid 1940s. They used this "chassis" with different configurations. I own several of the variations. This one is too small for me, but I will wait around and see if the seller ask for an offer.
