I don't like a single one of those (beyond the ones in a style I already own made by other makers), but I'm curious, why do you dislike them? I know nothing about the brand.
Well they are essentially upgraded Sendra boots. I've had enough of Sendra boots in my life. And I don't like any of the styles or lasts. So it's very personal, likely pretty decent boots for the price. I love my Sendra 13416 pair and will keep it for sure.

Not sure if this is really a deal or not, but here's a quite unique pair of engineer boots, with a nearly hidden zip-up feature. Size US 11-E - Interesting details on these vintage boots.

They look very nice. I quite dislike engineers in general but these shorter models do appeal to me. Seller says they're basically new and only used once but there's a defect in the heel of the left boot:

It does look ugly and correct me otherwise but from my ignorance I don't think it's a real issue for the boot integrity or durability.

One need not write a monograph on the merits of shoe blacking to reach 20 posts. As is clear in the relevant thread: "While we respect any membership of several years duration, the 20 post mark is an easy one to hit. Please just say "nice hat" somewhere and get to twenty, even if you've been here since FDR's third term." Please stop reporting this.

Disagree. Basic wesco boss boots. At the time new they probably cost $450. Their height limits the interested audience, and its unclear if they were sized custom or stock. I’d say they are $100 over priced.
Interesting viewpoint. My guess is that you don't normally shop for these and I'll offer a counter perspective.

What they cost new 15 or more years ago is nearly irrelevant as the time value of money has changed; the value of things has increased while the value of money has decreased (wildly). Using 2008 as a random benchmark applicable to another example below, inflation has been greater than 55% meaning the boots in your $450 example would now cost more than $700 new... but they don't; they now cost $912 and an example of that is here:

https://stompersboots.com/wesco-harness-16-inch-black-leather-lined/

The number of potential buyers that look for tall boots is small and so is the available pool of boots that are tall. This roughly approximates the opposite demographic where the number of potential buyers of shorter height boots is relatively large and so is the number of available boots. The issue you suggest arrises primarily when one demographic views and compares the other.

The boots in the 449 buck eBay ad are nearly new and time matters little to a pair of nearly unused Wesco boots. I currently have three pair of (tall) Wesco boots that range between 10-20 years old and they look new enough to wear into an office any day.

So the question surrounds replacement cost and the ad posted is less than half what a new pair would be yet the eBay pair appears nearly indistinguishable from new.

The next question would be about how much does a new looking pair of Wesco boots depreciate and the answer is not much. Discard the Japanese examples that are priced well above retail for used boots and find a comp that is in the US and in similar condition.

Here's a set w/ more wear at $650:

Each are tall shaft Wesco boots, pre-owned and in nearly new condition. You can find examples w/ more wear for less money than the three comps but you'd need to be a very astute shopper to get a better deal than that $449 pair. If they were in my size I'd own them and I filter the Bay every day for this type and style. I don't fit the ******ist community but I do ride and I do appreciate the extra coverage. I appreciate a good deal when I see one, too. Probably more so after hanging w/ you lot for a while.

Well thought out response but i’ll stick to my ***s. People can price them as they wish, it doesn’t mean they’ll sell for that price. I will wager $1 that they do not sell in one month.

Also, i don’t think the seller is a flipper. If you check the other items he has for sale it’s pretty clear he’s in the lifestyle.
