Well Flick, I think Optimo fits your criteria. Though they certainly are not cheap!
i can honestly say i will never be able to afford optimo not on a teachers salary lol
As promised, a couple of pictures of my dark cherry from Parker:
5 3/4"open crown, 2 3/4" brim. The centre dent dry creasing is just preliminary, not sure if I will pinch it.
The felt is rather heavy and stiff, more like a western felt, and I love it. Good for a everyday hat in our "heavy weathered" part of the world.
Difficult to capture the real color, it's darker than these pictures show, more like a chocolate with a reddish tint.
The bow is inspired by a Norwegian movie set in the 50's.
This hat will be seeing a lot of noggin time!
Do you have any more pics of this hat?
Kept the centre crease. Partly because it looks good, partly because experimenting with creases takes a lot of steaming with this stiff felt. No, it's just a good lookin' hat. I wanted to see some pics in the field or if you kept the center crease. I'm awaiting a hat from Parker blocked at the same height. Getting anxious!
My whippet clone arrives tomorrow according to Parker. He was apologetic for the super long wait. Hopefully I can post pics tomorrow evening
