Nobody touch him! He's mine! [emoji14]No, I heard it on the morning news. The 58-year-old male "entertainment" reporter on one of the local news stations sometimes displays the same mental and emotional capacities as his teenage daughter, and I think he has a "thing" for Cruise.
Could it be that the once excessive posting has declined? There was a time when The Lounge was really addictive, but those, "in your face" adverts are beyond annoying, to the point where my tolerance level overloads and I simply log off. This used to be an entertaining thread and then it slipped into a coma.

Tom Cruise apparently killed it. That said, shouldn’t we be talking about Disney’s new Jungle Cruise movie? Haven’t seen it, but have been reading the negative reviews with great schadenfreude.

I lurked for two or so years before I became a member. After signing up, I did not really post for the next few years. It might be that some of the lurkers (when they become more comfortable) will at some point become members.I was thinking the same thing. I’ve also noticed that now there are a lot of lurkers who read but do not post. Would be nice to get back to the days when there were a lot of colorful characters, actual experts, and lively back and forth.
I have no desire to see the movie. The Rock/Dwayne Johnson is probably a nice enough person, but that does not mean he should star in such a movie. But then what do I know? The Fast and Furious movie franchise has made a lot of money and has a lot of fans. I have not watched any of them.Tom Cruise apparently killed it. I joined The Lounge, read the threads, and posted occasionally, but for the first year or so I'd have to take breaks (i.e., stay away for a while) because every thread I read had this sort of prevalent snobbish "dressier than thou" attitude, and I have zero tolerance for that sort of thing. Eventually that disappeared (or my perception of it did) and I was able to finally get comfortable and settle in.I lurked for two or so years before I became a member. I finally broke down and watched the first movie just to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything. In my opinion I was not and, as best as I can remember, have only seen the first sequel once. If I want to see cartoon cars I'll watch Speed Racer....The Fast and Furious movie franchise has made a lot of money and has a lot of fans. I have not watched any of them.

That's more or less my experience, I can't remember exactly how long I lurked for. Although "dressier than thou," was never my experience, I felt that Loungers were far more knowledgeable than me. However, once I started posting i felt confident enough to engage with such eminent company. One thing that lurking taught me was to leave well alone if a spat arose, after all, it's difficult to argue in an empty room.I joined The Lounge, read the threads, and posted occasionally, but for the first year or so I'd have to take breaks (i.e., stay away for a while) because every thread I read had this sort of prevalent snobbish "dressier than thou" attitude, and I have zero tolerance for that sort of thing. I find this an interesting thread. I believe frequent posters may be somewhat lonely. Perhaps posting and receiving commentary offers acceptance and solace to them, making them part of a larger community. They may actually have a lot to say on a subject, or subjects, but slow or stop when they become irrelevant.
I post most often on some poetry sites, but poetry here is something that not well received.
Sapphic verse to Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Emily Dickinson, the former twins own my heart.
Shakespeare, and, to a lesser extent Poe-ironic for his terror cast but a great romantic who tears at the heart.
William is the greatest soldier poet in literature.
Honorable mention Aeschylus.

It is good to see you posting. I am annoyed enough by just the previews for the Fast and Furious movies that I would probably explode if I was forced to sit through just thirty minutes.Been a member for some time but haven't posted in Idk how long. Thought I'd give it a go here. Nice to see this thread still exists.
Agreed. Also saw reviews where it was compared to the '99 Brendan Fraser Mummy movie which is considered a better film. A simple story that's been told a million times over.
Nice to know I'm not the only one who has never seen an FF movie.![]()
