Just looking at it kills me. :p
Standing in front of it, while he's coming down the street would do that too.
Of course as slow as it moves, you have plenty of time to get out of the way.
Plus you can hear it for about a block.
Being a mechanic, he might have upped the horsepower.
I've never stopped to ask him, since I don't speak Volkswagen. :D

Well, yeah. GM's B and D body platforms which were discontinued in '96 come to mind.

At least FoMoCo did it right until 2012 with the Panther Platform.

As for MoPar, they gave up pretty much right when the gas crisis hit. Even their 'full-size' Diplomats of the 80's just look tiny.

I drove 3 in the late 80's, and they were medium.
The next car I got (at work) was a 90 Caprice.
Much bigger, and with an LT1 much faster too.
The Diplomat by the late 80's was just too underpowered with the 318.
By the time I hired on, the 360's were gone. Darn it.

Since I was with the police, they were police package.
My favorite was the 90 Caprice with the LT1, and a beefed up suspension.
The 94 Caprice was the last Chevys we bought, then went to Ford.
Not impressed with the Ford, especially the 95.
Skinny yes, and nimble, but slow compared to the previous cars.

The Dodge had an AM radio, each one I got.
At the time a local station was playing Sinatra, Big Band, Steve Lawrence, etc.
I learned to like it, and I still listen to it.

Well comparing the Dodge to a Cadillac isn't even a fair fight.

Still small. I see your 44o and raise you a 500ci in the Eldorado. :p

I didn't think the LT1 appeared in the Caprice until 1993?

I stand corrected, it had a 350 Throttle Body in it.
Yes, the 93 was an LT1.
I had a 94 with the same engine, gold of all colors. ;)
It's hard to believe, I just looked up the horsepower and it says 260.
Seemed like more, but then again it lists 330 torque.

The TBI 350 is a great motor. I have one awaiting placement in my '51 Ford.

There's a gold Caprice bubble sitting in town.

My Caddy has the 260hp LT1, as well. It was a lot of horses for the time and it still has a lot of giddy-up-go.
