The constant back and forth between three or four folks on the list in post #1 -- the little one line >> one line banter -- is not only ruining a LOT of threads, but detracting from the Lounge in general. Ya'll know who I'm talking about cause ya'll are on the list. If that's the kind of FL you want okay, but I truly think that some of us think that you should step back and clam up. Count me among the stepbackers and clamupers.
Let me see, by someone posting here, is creating some condition some place else that you label ruining it? Please do explain this to me? Please do explain how anything at all on this thread is connected to any other thread on this site, please? Please do explain how this is ruining the Lounge?

From what I understand, the individual that started this thread, does not "add" the posts from this thread to the list when making the claim, who has the highest post count, but hey, who am I to make that call?

I have read the rules about the "observation bar". I see nothing about this thread violating those rules. My take on it, this is the place where people can post things and be "left alone" about it, that no one is gonna pick on you for it. So my question is, why are YOU picking on anyone posting here? If you did not like what is being posted withing this thread, why read it and why mention it at all? I do not read the WWII threads. They have no interest to me. Now what would any one think if out of the blue, I made the wild statement on those threads, "Hey" I don't like all of this, you are NOT keeping within Fedora's (or what ever my "thing" was) and bombed them as you have here on this thread?

I have NO ill will to anyone, but really, get a life please. No one here means anyone else any sort of harm. Extend that same level of maturity back to us here, please. If this thread is not your "thing", you don't have to read or be bothered with it. Thanks.

So.... this is a thread about posting just to get your post count up?

No, that's the running joke though. It's really just a thread where there is no real topic beyond what happens to be on our mind that day, hour, minute... Sort of an all-in-one instead of having lots of threads, we just have this one.

That is so very true. I do so hope that no one person would come along and have such a horrible day, problems with "rhoids" or any other issue and want to toss gasoline on any of us here, just to have something to do. I know I do not take part in any "drive by shootings" to anyone else, and do pray no one would do that to me or anyone else for that matter!

I'm sorry if I/we have upset you Fred. It was just a joke that led to a little friendly banter.

Anyone I know of, feels the same way Rue. I can openly think of a few times that someone on the Lounge has taken something I have posted and wanted to twist it into something so very negative. I find that sad and not called for. I have harbored no ill will for that to have happened to me, and as such I brush it off with a warm smile and still have a great amount of willingness to enjoy life by being kind and happy.

I also have to say, however, to this day, I still do not understand the need a person may feel to jump on anyone else when that person being jumped on, has done nothing wrong?

A very large part of me and my life has always been to stand up for what is right and good, no matter what. I am a die hard in that area. I also have always been willing to stand in front of anyone that may have an unseen truck heading for them to try to do what I can to keep them from harm, and get them to safety. I guess what I am trying to say, is who ever wants to drive a truck into a crowd and then complain about it, needs to explain why they will do that in the first place!

I don't think so?
I was under the assumption that it is a place to corral much of the riffraff. I am,of course, only an innocent here to recognize and pinpoint those who would dare offer up a daily friendly banter excess. I have no idea what a curmudgeon like Grumpus Emeritus is doing here. Maybe that,in it's self,is somewhat explanatory:D

Ordinarily I would be licking my lips and reaching for the potatoes, but I absolutely went to town at a sushi restaurant tonight, and I feel a little seasick...

This is where my cravings usually get me. But do I learn? No, never.

Hi

I went to Banard's, and had a bowl of potato soup and a Barnstormer (roast beef, lettuce, onions, and pickles). I had the pepper grinder to put a new layer of pepper after every three or four spoonfuls. Banard's is a locally owned sandwich shop. VERY good.

C-Dot, I learned to eat Sushi in Huntsville AL. The sushi shop is in an old 1970's era gas station. We used to refer to it as "going out for Bait". I don't eat much sushi here in Kansas, too far from the ocean. I love smoked Salmon, spicy tuna rolls, and steamed mussels.

rue,
you are so diplomatic!
(notice how I used multiple lines!)

Thanks... I try :)

What upsets me is that people want to take issue in the public eye. It's happened more than once on here. If someone is upset with me or anyone else it would be nice if they would send a PM.

On that note and getting off this subject..... I'll post the list again

I also think my post count is going to go down considerably starting today....

Don't apologize, Rue. If he's such a good "stepbacker and clamuper," he wouldn't have gone to the trouble to post that comment in what he considers the worst offending thread.

I adore smoked salmon, or any other way its cooked :D My boyfriend and I made a whole pile of salmon sashimi one night, it was incredible! And as for mussels, I got hooked on those bad when I visited Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia with my parents as a kid. You don't find such good ones as far inland as Ontario, but they're from the East Coast, and they're lovely either way :)

You definitely need a road trip to the west coast! Come to Seattle and have Penn Cove mussels. Then decide what kind of salmon you want to have (both species and preparation method).

Absolutely! What is unique about this thread IS (from my viewpoint)...that it offers various subjects that seems to allow us to get to know each other a little better...easier...and has remained 'friendly'. Anyone can always jump in ..or not. Of course other threads should remain more stictly on their certain topic out of consideration for those interests.
