Some of the best music out there is from Morricone. He truly is a master composer. Anyone else attend his concert at Radio City last February?

I didn't attend the concert but his music is amazing! The soundtrack in the film "The Mission" with Robert de Niro and Jeremy Irons is so beautiful :eusa_clap haunting and unforgettable, Morricone at his best! Well worth listening to.

A "Spaghetti Western" score

I used to frequent a theater in SoCal. The manager and I became friends and when I commented how much I enjoyed the artwork on certain one sheets, he started giving me some that I liked. I have kept them all for years, some squirreled away and some hanging in my office. Here is one of my favorites. The score by Morricone is excellent, as are all of his offerings.

BTW, I just acquired the "Sergio Leone Anthology", featuring "Fistfull of Dollars", "For a Few Dollars More", "The Good, Bad and Ugly", and the above, "Duck You Sucker".

Morricone is a fine composer and I am sorry to have missed his Radio City gig.

I believe that the name "A Fistful of Dynamite" was a nod to the popularity of Leone's previous "Fistful..." epics. IMO, "Duck, You Sucker" was the original title, although I have seen one sheets and lobby cards with both. The line, "Duck..." is spoken many times in the film by James Coburn.

John Zorn did an interesting Morricone tribute album. He is a New York Jew with classical, jazz, and rock training. He also did a ponderous series of albums on the Masada and various other things including some Kurt Weill covers that were extremely creative and interesting (I am a Kurt Weill fanatic). It might be worth a listen to y'all.
