Another "if it fits it ships" event lol These days can add a bit of humor to the day. Fortunately it was a fairly soft, inexpensive Stetson Weekender destined as a first hat gift for a relative. Doesnt seem to have picked up any unusual shapes, so basically no harm no foul. Good entertainment value upon opening though lol

Just snagged this Unique Knox for a serious bargain. I’m excited about this’n even if it is medium brown. Has a few very nice touches that you don’t normally see.
Can’t wait to see what size it is. Seller didn’t respond to my inquiry.
Well, hopefully it’s at least bigger than 6 7/8.
I can deal with it otherwise.

Rick, I can only guess careless hat sellers employ roll it up reasoning when shipping 100 foot garden hoses and hats.
Hey, at least you get to feel good that you’re seller is helping to save cardboard and thus, trees. :-0

Picked this up for $25 today, an unlined Jack Lord Hatter with a 2 1/2-2 5/8" bound brim. Almost looks Whippetish. I couldn't find very much about the hatter but it was a great deal so I'll take a chance.

I love some of the modest priced hats! Many are surprisingly nice compared to modern hats. Im particularly fond of wide "whippett-ish" brim bindings and multiple row stitching

Definately an EBay WIN....This time its the "THIS is how youre supposed to ship a hat" day! Hat in original box and the box is a perfect fit inside the shipping box. I didnt even get any dust to fly off with the horsehair! Nice and clean. The tag says its an Adam Pacesetter model. Bound edge Adam Premier series. Hat has some obvious age with a few spots on top but should clean up fine, the liner will need some woolite, but other than that this hat looks almost new! Quick spurt with some foaming cleaner and a couple spots are already gone! No dents, creases, wonkey edges or mothbites! LOVE the sharks gill ribbon

I havent been this excited over a $21 hat in a long time! (Oh... and it fits!)

Two Open Roads in today... One definately has more character lol. It should clean up fine but... loose packing peanuts and christmas tinsel... seriously? Silverbelly 3x Beaver 7-1/4 Long Oval with intact wind cord, and 2-1/2" brim . Fits really well. Very clean and felt in good condition, just one little stain out on the ribbon binding... rest is really clean. Brim snaps really well. Just need to steam out and smooth the hat... reminds me of the hat shaping that Glen Ford wore in his westerns lol. ( you know... get the biggest saloon girls to sit on it a few times). Cattlemans Crease seems to be intent on staying.... will see what the steam can do. Worst comes to worst, I have a nice fedorish flat brim open road, a really nice fedorish one that snaps the brim really nice, and then this one... I guess it wouldnt hurt to have a cattlemens crease as well. Liner and Sweatband are really nice... just a couple small leather scuffs on the rim of the sweatband. Nice hat with LOTS of potential, but potential only goes so far right out of the box...overall about a 7/10 on the ebay scale. Looking forward to getting this one shaped up because the long oval feels sooo nice

Now for todays number two...This one is NICE. Came in a Mallory box... BUT IT DID COME IN AN ACTUAL HAT BOX with bubble wrap all around. (NO packing peanuts) 3x Beaver Open Road in 7-1/4 silverbelly ( just a hair lighter shade of silverbelly than the first one) Again intact wind cord with 2-7/8" brim..... this hat looks almost new. Brim snaps really nicely ... no stains or holes anywhere. Liner and sweatband are almost perfect. Felt is perfect flat and smooth with no dents or wonky spots... Im really really happy with this one. No tag inside sweatband so ill drop it to a 9.5 out of 10 on the ebay scale. My other two open roads are 2-1/4 and 2-1/2" brims so its nice to have a 2-7/8" also (on my budget I really cant justify two identical hats lol)

Ebay wise, hat nimber one was a win, but number two is an absolute SCORE!!!

Got some steaming on todays No 1. It seems to be determined to hang onto the Cattlemans Crease. Rather than fight it I decided to leave it as is and work around it. Tried re-flanging it, but the brim-up just didnt suit me, and up in back- down if font just didnt look right. So... I got the brim flattened a bit.. so far I think its way better. Several little creases on the crown that still need to be addressed, but I think I like where its headed

The only other cattlemens hats I have are straws, but I think I can get used to it...This is going to end up a pretty nice lid. Loving the long oval... feels really nice
