No idea, but I believe it’s marked 100% fur and with the other markings I’d guess it is nutria/coypu. Even if it is another fur type I’d doesn’t mean you wasted your money. I’d love to hear your thoughts of the hat and felt.

I think it is certainly a nutria hat, unless “Nutria” is a new brand name. Even then it should say “Nutria Brand” or something similar to Beaver Brand hats.

As Brent commented, let us know about the felt, etc.

Probably. "Pelo" is "hair." Which could be loosely translated to "fur," though fur is "piel."

They might just be using what they get from the floor of the barber down the street.

It looks to me like they are building their brand around Nutria. That being said it is likely they are using Nutria blanks for their hoods.

and THAT being said. .. there is generally no standardization for what constituted a Beaver hat here in the US. Or most elsewhere as I know. So when we see Beaver or 3X beaver or 100x beaver we never did or do know what percent beaver was in the final product.

It is interesting as it is marked on the liner....could be dishonest marketing calling your company "Nutria" so you can stamp it on the hat. Kinda like naming your company "100% Pure Beaver" and stamping the sweat and liner as such.

I have two Lagomarsino hats with a big “Nutria” on the liner and then small print on the sweatband identifying one as rabbit felt.

It doesn’t appear to fit here, but nutria is also used to describe the color (mid to light brown) so lots of possibilities for confusion.

Borsalino MGL 10 star mink. This is my 7th, but I couldn't resist the price. $93 for a MGL? Wow. The seller listed it as a 6 1/2. I suspected it was punti, so I asked for measurements, and I was correct.

Did someone here get this 7 5/8 Royal Stetson De Luxe black homburg? I was runner up. When I woke up and saw that I had lost I was a bit relieved…I wanted the hat, but another black homburg?

I was watching it but missed out on bidding. Was it a 7 5/8? I would have mentioned it to you if I had noticed.

And I know exactly what you mean on black homburgs…and I just got TWO more I could simply not resist. Though this one from the mid40s with that ribbon was pretty sweet!
