I think I cleaned up on this one thanks to the seller not putting either "Dobbs" or "boater" in the title. It's missing the hatband, but I can slap a puggaree on it or make a grosgrain ribbon and it'll be good to go. I love the style, what I call the "wicker boater" even though I'm sure there's a more proper term for it.

There's another one that ended right afterward that's identical except that it has the hatband, but it also has damage on the top and is a smaller size, and it went for almost $60.

There is a proper term, but it slipped my mind. Greek Weave? Yeah, I forgot. Nice find, by the way.

Thanks, flute. It says "Balstraw" in the liner, so I'm going to refer to it as that until I find a better term.

My ebay hat victories have been few. It seems I really need to try on a hat to see not only if it fits, but if it looks good on me. Of the six hats I've bought so far, I am really happy with only two.

6 7/8. Over $200! What just happened here?

Something special about this one that I am just not seeing, or is it just the crazy flow of water in the 'bay at it again?

Holy schnikes! That's unbelievable. I mean, it's nice and all, but I can't see that there's anything special about it that would warrant that kind of price. Especially at a size 6 7/8. I guess the seller just put in the right keywords, like Gatsby and steampunk, which draws the cosplayers out of the woodwork. I dunno.

My first Homburg, a Maclachlan. It was labeled as a Cavanagh(because of the box it was in), so grabbed this as the only bidder. A bit of yellowing on the plastic lining, was very dusty, and smells faintly of smoke, but otherwise in pristine condition. Any ideas as to the age of this hat?

Picked up this Adam from Rilico. I paid more that maybe I should have, but felt this hat had nice character. Not sure to call this a satin finish, but it's definitely got a longer nap. Very rusty brown, and with a great pin that looks like an old Roman coin.

It doesn't seem to be a big company name hat, but I like it. Hope it fits well.

Lee was a huge company, both in size and reputation. The Trinity is a very popular hat here as well, and yours looks to be very nice. I'm wearing mine today.

When you get yours, take some of your own photos, and post it here.

I think I had my eye on that one, too. I've got too many brown hats as it is, so I left that one alone.
