Gorgeous Mallory, 40Cal!

Happy to oblige javadave.
This is a Mallory 15. Probably late 40's as it has the 1817 date and a cloth size tag. Dark brown with the Mallory " Duplex edge". Brim is 2 7/8ths.

That's a stunner, .40! Very nice.

Pleased to say I got this one, and I'm glad to hear that you think this hat's older than the seller estimated. I thought mid 20s, but my knowledge isn't nearly as deep as yours.

Thought I'd lost it in the last second, but I had put a higher max bid than I usually would have. Good thing, 4 more dollars and I would have lost it.

I like the look of those old tyroleans I always remember seeing pictures of Walt Disney wearing a nice looking one. The knot work on yours is very nice.
