Didn't I see that '65 Lincoln painted a different color over in front of the Old Haney Place?

Apparently Hooterville Lincoln-Mercury had at least one customer!

Good eye, yes it is.
As we all know, the Lincoln was part of the joke, that a city slicker would keep that on the farm instead of buying a truck.
If he was interested, Mr Haney would have sold him one. :D

Dear CCJ,
I think for it you qualify for it to be a PIMPMOBILE it would have to have cheetah seat covers, and an eight track playing Isaac Hayes theme music from the movie "Shaft" and his song "If Loving You Is Wrong." I just took some more snaps of her today in front of our home today when I got home from the mechanic. I took some of the interior as you requested. And a few others to give you an appreciation of her length, which is a hair over 18 ft. I hope you enjoy them.

If it's not restored, you've got a very nice survivor! I agree, you must have a Fedora when driving it....

Eb, indeed!

I always thought Mr. Haney's truck was so cool!

Yes LizzieMaine I will confirm it is a 1965 Lincoln indeed! You said the magic year & model and the duck came down and you win $50.00! You have a good eye especially since you cannot see the grill. Even then there were usually subtle differences year to year. Sadly I heard that the Hooterville Lincoln- Mercury dealership closed after this one and only sale. Now sadly Hooterville patrician class individuals have to travel all the way to Pixley to buy a Lincoln.

Don't forget the furry white Fedora....

Liking this car a lot. What are you treating the seats with?

Perhaps a white Fedora, Panama, or linen Christie's flat cap in the warmer months, but no fur ever please! Ladies and Gentlemen kindly remember that even years ago in the 20's, 30's and 40's one could purchase a Packard in scarlet red, and it no means indicated that it was a "tart mobile." I have seen some rather hansom Super Eights in red. In fact it signified that the owner is a person that was self confident, comfortable in their own skin, enjoyed the colour, and did not in the least minded being noticed because of their preference. I rather enjoy driving it even as a survivor, warts and all, because it is true gentleman's car, with a fair amount of spritely performance when needed.

As to how I care for the seats and leather doior panels. I treat them with Hydrophane Glycerine Leather & Saddle Soap. It comes from the UK and is pricey, but it is another case of you get what you pay for. It is great for cleaning the leather and puts moisture in it at the same time. I use soft cloths and slowly work it in, and later buff it by hand. At times I also use a soft toothbrush to get in some of the seams and hard to get spots. I have also used Meltonian shoe cream in red to help colour in some of the cracks, but be warned if you are going to do this, you have to make sure it is all buffed out so that riders are not going to get any smudges on their clothes! Their is a lot of detail work on this car and I wished I had more time to give to her. But a least she is far from neglected, and as a bonus my wife and son enjoy riding in her.

I'm assuming...ASSUMING Hooterville is in the Northeast part of the US, in NY state or NJ. The reason being is Oliver takes the car to NY on occasion, to meet with clients, while still acting as a practicing lawyer. Also, relatives road the train, but never mentioned flying a commercial airline to get there, so I can only assume the main train (amtrack?) connected somewhere with the Pixley one.
Don't make me go back and watch the series! :)
BTW I'd rather have the Bronco Hank Kimball drives, those are getting hard to find.

Although no New England accents were heard, Hooterville always reminded me a lot of the small farming towns around here, which aside from the surreal touches were very much like the town shown on the show. There was one episode where they showed the capitol building of Hooterville's state -- and the image shown was that of the Massachusetts State Capitol.

And as for cars, young Eb had a very snazzy Model A.

Green Acres, as advertised in The Farm Gazette, consisted of 160 acres.

Hooterville is located "near" Chicago. To get there, change planes twice, take the bus from the County Seat to Pixley, then simply take the train (Cannonball) to Hooterville!
Thanks to the Green Acres homepage for this info.
Lizzie we were both wrong. But I still feel somehow we were right in a way. I could have sworn he drove to NY in an episode. Continuity problem I suppose....

Boy, the Cannonball must be a longer route than I thought! The only Pixley I've ever found is just north of Bakersfield, California! LOL!

Auld, thanks again for the grand tour. She is a Beauty. 18ft, A giant warehouse is needed for that beauty.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy the car along with the great memories you will create with your family.
Best regards
