Double Helix 1930s Suede advice

Hi All

Long time lurker with a question for the experts. I'm currently in London visiting from NYC. I waited to buy a leather jacket until I came here to try some stuff on over at Rivet and Hide and Son of a Stag. At Rivet they have this nice dark brown suede jacket by Double Helix. The 1930s single rider jacket in suede. The cut fits me well but it's the suede I'm wondering about. Basically how warm is it on a motorcycle and how delicate is the suede. I like the look of it but don't want to have to baby it. I know the regular horsehide is more durable but it's also heavier and stiffer. Anyway, any advice would be appreciated to help make a decision.
