Size 9?! Popular? You're kidding right.
They're great shoes but they at least have to be a 10 1/2 for me to start looking. 11 would be even better.

10 to 10 1/2 for me. I haven't worn a 9 in 23 years.
Those are great looking shoes though. There were some beautiful black cap toe dead stock shoes about a week ago, did anybody here get them? I do believe they were a size 10 as well.

I'm scared to bid for shoes on eBay; I'm all over the place with modern shoes and that's bad enough. Still... if something like that showed up in, say, 10 or 10.5...

I love those cap-toe Spectators with the embellishment on the toes. Like everyone else, they would never fit me. There is a vintage store in Boston with 20 pairs of these, but not one is over a size 10!

Wish I were kidding! No, it's true. Sizes 9 and 9.5 are the best-selling sizes in men's shoes.

I'll confirm that 9.5 is THE best selling size in men's shoes. Although for athletic shoes, it's slightly higher at a 10.

Size 9!? I agree with Dan, I haven't worn that size in 20 years either. :eusa_doh: Are we taking into account the fact that sometimes my wife buys men's athletic shoes because they look better? Maybe there are more women out there who are doing the same thing. That would sqew the average for sure. I know plenty of guys and not one of them wears a size that small. I could see that it would be standard for the Depression Era but now? [huh]
