Customer experiences with Aero Leather

Mihai, I would love to see some pictures of your new B3 from Aero. I ordered a B3 a month ago and I have about 12 more weeks until I get mine. I'm as excited as a little kid at Christmas. Take a lot of pictures. PLEASE.

Hi Fellow Loungers

My first order from Aero was on the phone to Mark where he took my measurements and advised me what size and adjustments i should have to fit my shape. When my jacket arrived it was spot on and fit me like a glove and im guessing my experience is similar to almost all of their customers. I have only returned one jacket which had(IMO) a dodgy finish on the surface of one of the panels and Aero sent me a new one with in a week no questions . Amanda always answers my emails promptly with short accurate answers and never gets annoyed with my endless questions. My only minor gripe is the length of time it takes to get hold of one of their jackets but at the ned of the day its the kid on Christmas Eve syndrome coming out in me, if you look to buy other hand made items the wait can be much longer.
Overall I would give Aero a 10 and i think apart from the quality of the product the way Amanda deals with her customers is outstanding .

Thanks for your offer and your detailed description... of course ...YES pics would be great!! Also wearing size 46 and I am curious about the look of a standard fit of a 46 B3 jacket. Can you give the jacket lenght front (Zipper) / back lenght / pit-to-pit / sleeves . . .

I must admit the jacket looks much better in reality than in the pictures.

@Windward - thanks for the wishes. The jacket is tagged as size 46 and measurements are:
- shoulder to shoulder seam at epaulets level - 57 cm (I usually go 53-54 cm on a bike jacket)
- chest laid flat measured from arm pit seam to arm pit seam - 74 cm (on a normal bike jacket I usually have 65 cm), maybe this is due to compensate for the sheepskin thickness, I must admit it fits me fine
- back length from collar seam to bottom - 74 cm
- front length from zipper top to bottom - 61 cm
- side to side width at bottom level - 70 cm
- sleeve on the exterior from seam to bottom, uncuffed - 74 cm

My measurements are: 90kg, 187 cm, 114 cm chest, shoulders width 50 cm, waist at illiac crest(8 cm under the belly-button) 88 cm. I wear jeans size W34 L34 (Levi's 501 for example).

One more detail about fit - when raised, the collar is that generously cut that it gets up to my eyebrows at the front. At the back it goes almost near the top of the head. And I do not possess a short neck at all.

I understand you, it's a fantastic jacket, among the best you can buy. I was like this at the beginning, but as the time passed I tried not to think too much about it and dedicate to other activities (family, work, fun). This way the waiting is much easier to cope with, at least for me.

Highwayman heavy front quarter horsehide

They do a great work, and the leather they use is just outstanding.
It takes a while to break in a heavy front quarter horsehide highwayman but I´ve been told this before (just that I did not really believe that it´s hard to scratch your head at the beginning - it´s so).

Its a killer of a B3 jacket - and YES - have to admit, its fits you very well. :eusa_clap
Its a "medium" long jacket with a great look of a "short" jacket and covered the butt well enought in the cold.
Currently I am happily wearing my shearling lined Windward (alpaca in the sleeves and mouton fur collar)
- its very cold right now and can say - so what! Enjoy it!
If you got the chance make pics in the sunlight ... I am sure the color is amazing ... because its an AERO.

Heh. I have been reliably told (I don't hold myself out as an expert) that their B3s are pretty spot on. Their Irvins are the one they don't get quite so right. the sleeves being too tubular. I wish they could nail that - I'd definitely jump on one of their pre-war pattern Irvins if they did.

I was just trying to buffer any possible anti-Aero replies Edward. I've seen it before, so I thought I'd just put that disclaimer in there. I'm just getting a decent knowledge of one jacket - the A-2. It takes a lot of time and experience to know more and more. Baby steps.
Some guys know a ton, and some are very picky about accuracy. I don't know enough about the B-3 yet to say, but it's a knockout jacket.

Yeah, I get you. I know their A2s are meant to be a tiny bit off in certain respects, though I can't honestly say I've noticed it much myself.

Will say again: Aero have been the best company I've ever dealt with. I know how annoying the long wait is, but you are getting a custom made work of art.

I'll post pics of both my Veste coats with age/wear. The cordovan is easily my favourite.

Right now there are other gaps in my wardrobe. Considering how long FQHH takes to break-in, not sure I could do a third justice anyway.
