I came across this cool motorcycle jacket that looks like a golden bear. It is tagged male hide- Chicago. Very cool jacket with legit talon zippers, inner suede waist band , and nice tough steerhide. I have grown partial to this crosszip. I wanted to share it also to see if anyone has heard of it "malehide" leather Chicago.

You are correct that is a Golden Bear. Golden Bear, perhaps more than any maker I can think of (maybe Johnson Leather) was contracted by a large number of leather shops and adult stores to supply jackets that were then labeled with shop tags. Male Hide was one such store. Here's another example, from an adult store in LA called "The Pleasure Chest". Sorry for the weird rotation, I'm taking it directly from Craigslist.

And here's another from "A Taste of Leather", a San Francisco shop. I think this is a much more recent Golden Bear though. Or maybe it is JL.

Glad to hear you are happy with the jacket. I know @JMax was hoping for someone on the lounge to review it since there's not a lot of reviews out there for vintage Golden Bear stuff.

I know it looked identical to the golden bears I've seen. The only difference i have seen on some golden bears is the curve in the back. Like on this newer one

The fit is dialed in j max, im very happy with it. Great comfortable pattern that is tight in the right places like wrist/waist. I think you would love one. Im glad I pulled the trigger

Great information on the Golden Bear! I know little about the company and have not researched it. I did find this from a 1984 newspaper advertising Taubers jackets.
