Just got these pair of Santa Fe resoled. They were mall boots, beautiful leather and workmanship but cheap rubber sole and heel. Felt very hard. Got them reworked at Izet of Stamford, CT, a true treasure guy, old shoe maker from Yugoslavia.

I was finally in the same room as my recently purchased Justins. I'm diggin' these things. Plus ... they fit!
Four rows of multicolored stitching. Obviously hand sewn (well ... with a single needle machine).
Says "Comb Last" above "Justins".
"Combination Last" below the numbers.

A bit sad that the seller decided to ship them in the 60-plus-year-old original box. I should have specified that they not I guess, but why would they?

Killer boots, Bob! They really look great. That's a shame about the box. It really used to astound me, some of the dumb sh*t people do, but I've seen so much of it these days i just shake my head. Just take the bad with the good and keep on moving forward. Enjoy those boots! They'll be happier on your feet than in the box, anyway.

Thanks Dale ... the box will just be lost in the closet anyway as my boots are always out where I can get to them easily. I'm hoping to get more info on them, but Nancie at Justin is not in the office (where the research materials are) due to the office being shut down during the State's COVID restrictions. I'll report back if I find out anything.

Not mine. Spotted on the instagram this morning. I've seen a LOT of different and often very creative designs on cowboy boots. These might be the first ones with strippers on them.

Well, I figured my western hats needed some boots, so after spending some time around this thread I decided to go fishing in the Bay. Might not be as nice as most found here nor of a preferred style, but considering my budget and the amount of rotational use they'll get I think they represented good value.

Great find. Christobel Romero made some excellent boots. I have a pair of his from the late 50s/early 60s, they're definitely some of my favorites. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your collection. Good luck with "just one more pair".
