Ha ha ha
I finally got around to looking at the auction.
30k and no best offer......
Wonder if they’ll take a Hummer as a down payment??

That seller always has something outrageously priced. Saw those earlier in the week. I'm always impressed with sellers telling me what is "collectible". I believe it's the same one that listed some Sammi Davis Jr. boots for 6k.

Please pardon an ignorant question about western boots, as I've worn logger-type lace-ups most of my life...

When a boot is referred to as "hand-stitched", exactly what does that involve? I can't imagine that all the intricate stitching shown on y'all's fine boots is produced by a craftsman hunched over a bench with an awl, needle, and thread in hand. Or are they?

Thank you,
Regan

Though I know of a couple of boot makers who've hand stitched a pair from top to bottom, it was only for self edification, not a means of doing business. "Hand stitched" is generally referring to the stitching of the top, done one row at a time on a single needle sewing machine.

The factory boots you see with many rows of stitching are done on multi-needle CNC machines.

Thank you for the explanation. That makes a lot more sense and is what I expected, but I've been accused of being "too literal" many times before. ;)

Nabbed this vintage bronzed money clip with a pair of cowboy boots on it for half a buck at the farmers market this morning. It ain't all that...but it wasn't $30,000 either....and with what I just spent on a new steering gearbox and control arms for my suburban, it's the closest I'm going to get to a new pair of boots any time soon.

Replaced a vintage pair of Red Wing ropers (due to shame ‘Bama) with these working boots. Bookmaker, David Espinoza, Phoenix. Bull hide and calf? Simple stitching. Came with one of his custom belts as well in black with iris (light purple) ostrich accents.

Espinoza makes a nice boot, Bob and those look great. I especially like the stitch pattern. Good to see you out of those tall slippers.

My wife has been accumulating a collection of Tony Lamas and Noconas. This is a pair she just purchased for a friend.

Dd, she has a fine eye as those look great. If you know any ladies around a size 7 that might be interested in a pair of tall top T. O. Stanley boots in kangaroo that are in great shape, I'm your huckleberry.
