Where are you? I'm in Niagara and we got only about half-an-inch last night and that's it. I haven't been outside yet but apparently the wind chill is merciless. We Just got a HUGE big dump of snow here and Its going down to Negative 30-35 apparently real soon!

This morning it was -22C but no wind, although in open areas with a breeze it would feel much, much colder. The sun is out and will warm it up during the day though. I haven't seen the temp that low on the mercury for several years.
I hope you don't think that "worst" = "coldest". I find it very annoying when weather forecasters say "the temperature will rise to X degrees at best", as if higher temperatures are better temperatures. We've seen the first inklings of spring here. A mild day here and there, temperatures nudging up a little and I'm starting to see green shoots and snowdrops . Hopefully, the worst of the weather is approaching its end. I even went out with just a t-shirt under my Irvin this afternoon!

I emphatically agree! I was in your city from Tuesday 3rd to Saturday 7th; it was cold, dry and quite bright.I mean in terms of just wet, cold, dark and miserable. Give me a cold, bright, sharp winter any day of the week.
Th daylength is indeed increasing dramatically, which greatly lifts the spirits. But we don't put the clocks forward until late March - why so late, I can't understand. That said, I will welcome the extra daylight we're due at the end of the month. *looks out of window* So very dark...
