I stand corrected. The seller is Alaska outfitters. If you search in ebay store for "Alaska Outfitters Ray Kwok" you will see link for purchasing their Buco j100 replica. However, they use to have links for their other designs in black Maryam leather that I cannot find anymore. Perhaps other FTL members will know.

I think Alaska outfitter is on here as @eyewildshot . DM him, he's a good dude.

I wish places like crush on retro would identify the maker/factory if it was a consistent known quantity. Got this switchyard and its a nice coat, but I might not have bought it if i could find a jiashi rendition of it. Veloukldly has some small qc things that werent a problem for me 3 years ago when i could get them for 150$, but now that tariffs have made everything cheaper by a 2 fold increase in price, 340$ would have me seeking better where I can get it.

The photos show a zigzag stitch runnning off course on an open leather (word for a posterior, since the system censored it like a vugar term) seam (which may be how the freewheelers origional design intended it, but certainly the origional had straight stitching). Another shows a stitch ending and being restarted in the middle of the lapel. Again, I like the jacket, but jia shi tends to do better.

To wit: my beloved 4xl jiashi brakeman. I wish i had gotten an xl in the switchyard instead of 4xl. The brakeman looks good as an overcoat, the switchyard less so, it would have looked better fitted.

The brakeman is pretty much flawless and worth every penny of the 225$ i paid for it a 2 years ago.

I got my Veluokldly Horsehide Jacket in 2XL. It took a little bit longer than the last one (from a different seller) until it arrived in Germany. Around 4 Weeks. The last one was too big (3XL) and i sent it back. It was no problem via AliExpress Return Label. Got my money back in 2 weeks. But i lost 20 Euro for Taxes.

This one fits way better than the 3XL. What do you think? Im 187cm, 80kg.
It is really stiff and needs break in. But i am happy with it. I believe it is a good jacket for money. Although i don't have a high end jacket to compare.

I can highly recommend the seller C&C factory store from AliExpress. The seller wrote me about sizing and also he made some pictures and even a short Video of the actual Jacket before he shipped it. Good service, i would definetely buy again.

From eBay store Alaska outfitters.
if it helps, i ordered a pair of blutchers on black teacore local leather from them and i liked the shoes so far. ordering process was easy. very quick response time and explanations were detailed. placed an order for their sports jacket in camel shinki. will report back once received.

Funny.....because the only "luxury" horsehide I've seen without puckering is Thedi and older (Pre 60s) American police jackets mate......

Aero, Eastman and all the Jap **** brands CONSTANTLY have this issue......atleast the Chinese managed to sew horsehide without splitting it unlike Aero and Eastman
I think you need to do more research chief. I understand this is the bargain, “almost good”thread but to compare Aero and Eastman to this stuff is completely absurd and non sequitur. Of course if you can back it up with photos like the one you quoted (a Chinese cheapo btw) that might be helpful.

Nice coats @hivecanary
As I'm having a hard time finding a car coat that I would like without spending absurd money even on used stuff I've been contemplating giving the brakeman copy by Real Simons from Brake House a try.
Still not sure if it makes more sense to go through some taobao agent or just use Brake House.

I guess Real Simons tends to be one of the top dogs as far as Chinese makers/factories go?

Real Simons and Jia Shi are the two to go for, for mass production options. The value is for sure there, I have not opened a package and been disappointed with the money I spent.

alaska outfitters (ebay) also sell real simmons. i had a very good experience purchasing a pair of derbies from him. also very helpful with sizing. not sure which one has better price though.

I'll ask them since I can't see their stock on Ebay - "This Shop has no inventory available in your location."
Thanks for the suggestion. Based on their other items I think Brake House will be cheaper.
I had a hard time finding the Real Simons store through the TaoBao proxies/agents, but finally found it by the way:
https://www.superbuy.com/en/page/shop/shop/?shopid=33758355&platform=TB

Just to give you an idea about options and pricing (for the Real Simons brakeman coat):
Superbuy : ~270usd excluding shipping.
Brake House : ~400usd including 50usd shipping (to my location) that gets deducted if you return. So more like ~350usd excluding shipping. They do include all import taxes though.
Atorie : ~325usd (seems to be free shipping when I try to check out, but would need to confirm how import taxes and returns work with them)

This is a forum where people share their experiences and opinions on sartorial items and style, as well as the experience of obtaining those items. The idea that comparing two articles of clothing to each other *on this forum* is a non sequitur feels a little out of touch with the greater context.

If im on a food forum i *absolutely* want to hear a critical analysis comparing a 5 star michilin resturaunt to taco bell, if im on a car forum i *absolutely* want to hear a comparison of why i should buy a hotrodded vw bug over a Maserati. That kind of comparison takes vaulted rarified out of reach items and experiences and puts them within imaginitive reach of the poor destitute yearning masses, and gives context to items that otherwise (sometimes intentionally) are kept overly esoteric and unintelligable to the 'uninitiated'. Such comparisons are a *delight* and make the whole forum more interesting. I say that as someone who owns aero and jia shi.

Mostly what im getting at is 'i dissagree with your assertion and heres why' is additive, 'you should stop talking about that entirely' makes this place less interesting.
