This is a very interesting picture.

Given the fact that the role of Harrison Ford has become so iconic that his clothing is referred to and widely available as "The Indy Boots", "The Indy jacket" etc., it is heartbreaking how bad his character has aged in the latest movie: a shockingly bad fit on an oversized lump of leather...

On the other hand, I quite like the silent nod to the equally iconic "Johnny-Jacket" that Shia is wearing. it´s nowhere near a Durable, not even a faithful repro, but it seems like a nice little gesture towards film and/or clothing nerds.

I recently joined an Indiana Jones fanatic forum and the wealth of knowledge for all things Indy is vast. Apparently Tony Nowak is /was a producer of some serious repro Indy Jackets and he built the one Shia is wearing in CS. His jackets are still highly sought after in that world.

I didn’t know that.

AFAIK, the original jackets were made by Belstaff.
The “Mutt” jacket was then commercially available to the general public. At that time, Belstaff had turned into the fashion company it is today. Quality kind of okay but vastly inferior to what is the norm in our parts. I am not surprised that there would be a market for a serious repro.

What’s everyone guesses on Milchick’s leather jacket from severance?

Some people say it’s the RMC Nelson with a different pocket zip. And I sort of agree since I also have the Nelson but the collar is a bit different.

In anyway, it’s def a 30s sports jacket/half belt style.

It definitely looks like Shinki leather in my eye.

I started the second season this week and I've come to this thread precisely to talk about this! It totally caught my eye how good this jacket looked.

I like knowing we all head to the lounge to see if anyone has seen that cool leather jacket in that one new show and to try an ID it.

For me It's cool seeing jackets on other people, esp moving on camera. You can see the details from photos or mirrors, but it's different seeing it moving on camera on someone else in the 3rd person.

I can only ever catch glimpses of myself in the reflection of glass or a mirror briefly in motion, It's everyone else that gets to enjoy the view.

I honestly don't get the hype when I see RMC or Rainbow Country, on pictures I fail to see much differences with the equivalent jackets from Aero or Vanson that are half the price... But indeed seeing it on someone moving, it does look far better, it caught my eye immediately. But hey, perhaps if I saw an Aero next to it on the series, I would not be able to tell which looks better!

I am with you that an RMC or RC jacket does not look “better” than an Aero or Vanson, but that you “fail to see much difference“ is a bit rich.

There are hardly any makers that are visually more distinct than Aero/Vanson on the one hand and RMC and their sisters on the other.
