BK Dodger in Liberty HH

I got an email from Andy saying my size 44 Dodger in Liberty dark seal should be ready to ship next week. With all the cuff fuss recently I did take the opportunity to ask them to narrow the cuffs by about .5inch. To me button cuffs seem like they should be narrower than what I've seen termed the "American cuff" without buttons.
It was ordered from the Black Friday sale although I asked them to wait until they had dark seal in stock.

It's starting to get into some good jacket weather here. I've learn't that it's better to order in summer if you want your jacket ready for winter. Almost every vendor I've bought from has trouble keeping to their estimated delivery date. So barring any reasons to send the jacket back this one has been timed well. Fingers crossed!

I like the look of the dark seal. I actually wanted this jacket in a lighter color just like the Dodger on their facebook page, but they sold out that leather. This Dodger is pretty light weight, real nice for our Spring weather here, 70s today. I've got Hercules from the 50s that are very much light weather jackets. If is like my Liberty it will wear and will wear quickly. This is the way they designed it, but it kinda shocks you at first. I need to update my pictures with some of the edge wear. I'll take some daylight shots tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing your jacket. Interested to see how the dark color wears.

Crazy jacket, way too small. so cool. I was in the era. I know nothing about this company. I kept seeing the name on ebay. I would wear this jacket if it fit, real cool. I had a rough cut suede varsity jacket in this era in this color, it was very popular. I haven't taken any quality shots of it or I can't find them. Check out the huge over the top Talon zipper!

How cool. That's also a really wearable style. Some of them are really extreme. I think the Gandalfs are the way to go for that look rather than spending ridiculous money on the original East Wests. I'm fascinated by these types of jackets. What is the leather like?

The maker of the jacket doesn't seem to have internet in the basement where he works. Super cool looking jacket!
I also like shorter sleeves. The width on my jacket is great for me. If it was longer though, the width would seriously bother me as the sleeves would cover my hands then.

Yes, East West is where I heard the Gandolph name. I'm not up on these jackets. Back in the day I probably could not have afforded this jacket. The leather is fairly substantial.

I should be posting them in the Classifeds especially when they don't fit! I go back and forth on what to do with some of them. I've sold quite a few, but bought a whole lot more. Man, that jacket would probably fit you well. I think you did post a fit pic of your new Aero? It is a very nice jacket, probably 40s with nice original stiff horsehide, but not for sale. I would certainly contact you if I ever choose to sell that jacket.

You really should! :) I'm always waiting for when one of your jackets gonna pop up in the Classifides, but... Rarely happens. The Taubers CR you sold was one of the most beautiful jackets I've seen.

That's a beautiful colour on the jackets above.

tmitchell,

That Herc is beautiful. I've been going back and forth about ordering one myself.

Dave

I bought the Herc here. The price was right. I typically wear a 44, this is marked a 42. I like the way it fits, a 44 would have been too big. I posted this short vid in another thread.

I would guess the hide is Horween? It is still as new, probably called a mid weight. I've had the heavy and this is lighter and more comfortable.

Here is a link to more pics of the Herc.

Sorry, tm, but I can not access the link you posted.

That Hercules just sat in the classified here, got to a price I couldn't ignore. The BK Hercules in this style I understand is only available through American Classics and is rather expensive. Has anyone tried the BK Hercules? I'm really liking the BK Dodger. Wore it today on a windy 50 degree day, perfect. The leather is just the right weight. Button up the collar and you feel warm enough and you look good!
