BK Dodger in Liberty HH

Extremely beautiful jacket, and I really appreciate the video! IMO fit is as perfect as it gets. I always check your YouTube page when I'm unsure about the fit.

As for the HH's, the one on the left is my fav. Tons of character on that one. Are the vintage brothers also top dyed, like Aero, with brown base or is the leather black all the way through?

The zip is different than most I've seen and looks slightly large in the video for a vintage jacket.

I don't recall what size you wear. The jacket on the left is probably a chest size 40 with plenty of shoulder. I can not wear it. The jacket on the right is probably a 44 and I do wear it. The jacket on the left does wear through to brown, but there isn't much wear on it. I will do a post on those, I've got a few more.

A little about cuffs/sleeves in vintage jackets. You will have to trust my word on this one because I'm not going to go measure a lot of vintage jackets. OK?

The stovepipe sleeve and cuff is very noticeable on many, many vintage jackets. It really is the norm. Some are so big and open as to feel odd and even uncomfortable. I thought about having storm cuffs put in a favorite 50s Hercules. Instead of that debate, debate why they were made that way? I don't know, but I bet someone out there would have a great idea. Someone mentioned gloves, wow I had not thought about that.

And yes, the BK cuffs are much like that. I doubt even BK would duplicate the sleeves and cuffs on my 50s Hercules. My guess is that people would not like it. Storm cuffs could be a remedy, but the Herc doesn't have them.

This isn't the Hercules, but demonstrates a fairly wide full sleeve and cuff. This jacket is c.50s

The Hercules is on the right. Thought I had a better pic.

Really nice jacket. Very good video and comparison.
I can see why jacket from BK has a wider cuff than others, and after seeing some original jacket, I think BK's cuff is historical correct. And please bear in mind that BK is trying to make the exact replica of original jacket.

Yes, most of us including myself don't like such design, so maybe the best we can do is remember ask them to narrow the cuff down when wording from them.
Also, most of us prefer the cuff just above the thumb, the wide cuff will look bad with this length, but it actually looks good if the end of cuff just reach the wrist.

I stand corrected. Enjoy your jacket and good luck in your quest for others.

I was rude and so corrected my "wrong".

I don't think I will find any in my quest. I have run a WTB BK some time back. I only had one reply. I've seen an A2 on ebay, but not my size. I got that Aero Hercules here and I couldn't be more happy with it. I will have to single it out in a separate thread because, to me, it represents something special.

BTW the cuffs on the Hercules are perfect in each position. Nicest button cuffs I worn.

Terry, I'm 40-42. And yes, please post more! Man, what a collection...

I have noticed folks here prefer a longer sleeve. I like a shorter sleeve. I do like a nice tight cuff. I have considered having an additional button on the cuff of my Duke. I have a lady who could advise me, not sure what is involved. I don't like the cuffs on a couple of my LW jackets either. Sure, if you are ordering a jacket ask about the cuffs.

I should be posting them in the Classifeds especially when they don't fit! I go back and forth on what to do with some of them. I've sold quite a few, but bought a whole lot more. Man, that jacket would probably fit you well. I think you did post a fit pic of your new Aero? It is a very nice jacket, probably 40s with nice original stiff horsehide, but not for sale. I would certainly contact you if I ever choose to sell that jacket.

I don't know them, but I know there are people out there with massive leather jacket collections. Look at the vintage leather books. Guys that were buying this stuff like me for years, only they really focused and dug. There are nice jackets out there in ebay shops with really stiff prices. Outside of ebay and etsy I don't know of a vintage leather jacket market. The classifieds from time to time. I did get a Gandolph recently at the Salvation Army. Outrageous late 60s orange shorty. So cool, so small.

No worries, I'm happy to admit when I'm wrong. There's been a lot of passion lately about BK, and I've tried to make it clear, as many of us have, that it's only about their attitude, not about their jackets. It's a great jacket for sure and I hope you wear it in good health. If you are going to make an exact replica of an old jacket than the cuffs must fall where they may... certainly some older jackets had some seriously wide cuffs, and others were a bit more tame.

I got an email from Andy saying my size 44 Dodger in Liberty dark seal should be ready to ship next week. With all the cuff fuss recently I did take the opportunity to ask them to narrow the cuffs by about .5inch. To me button cuffs seem like they should be narrower than what I've seen termed the "American cuff" without buttons.
It was ordered from the Black Friday sale although I asked them to wait until they had dark seal in stock.

It's starting to get into some good jacket weather here. I've learn't that it's better to order in summer if you want your jacket ready for winter. Almost every vendor I've bought from has trouble keeping to their estimated delivery date. So barring any reasons to send the jacket back this one has been timed well. Fingers crossed!

Crazy jacket, way too small. so cool. I was in the era. I know nothing about this company. I kept seeing the name on ebay. I would wear this jacket if it fit, real cool. I had a rough cut suede varsity jacket in this era in this color, it was very popular. I haven't taken any quality shots of it or I can't find them. Check out the huge over the top Talon zipper!

What's not to like.. The jacket looks great. If you don't mind, What was the Black Friday sale..

It was a discount price on a few civilian styles in Liberty HH. The lining was extra. I don't recall the sale price. Seems with the extra lining and delivered it was $850? I bought another jacket around that time and they were around the same price.
