Belt or Beltless

Each of my 3-current cross zips has the ability to completely remove the belt, so this has not been an issue for my situation.

I would say whichever one you like best - stick with it. Let the other one sail away! Both are very nice in my opinion and fit you very well too, I do not think you could make a bad choice here.

By themselves, one vs the other, beltless fits better and looks better on you, although I’m not a fan of black teacore, or yellow core in this case.

In the context of your collection, belt seems like the better choice, beltless fits/looks better but lightning looks even better than beltless and the fit on both is pretty close, otoh belt has room to layer, which seems like something you need/want for some occasions.

So imho going with belt would leave you with a tshirt only cross zip (lightning) and one for layering (belt).

Seems like I'm leaning towards this option yes, as the lightning acts as a beltless cross zip rugged tank with a nice patina. But man that pebbly horsehide is also very unique.
If I didn't have 7 leather jackets to rotate already I'd keep both

Both nice jackets. I would be torn if I were you. I prefer no belt and like the fit of the beltless better on you but I prefer the non-yellow teacore leather on the one with the belt.
