Guys, I'm facing a crisis.

Only 1 jacket must remain, which one would you keep?

I love them both, and would like your input.

Both are from Sugar Cane, Indian motorcycle lineup, horsehide.

A) Perfecto with the belt, dyed through, smooth grained with a shiny "dull" topcoat. The horsehide is 1.4-1.5mm thick, but pliable.

B) Beltless perfecto, "yellow teacore", pebbly grain with a topcoat that is less dull but wears away to show the yellow leather. Less thick horsehide and a bit more pliable, about 1.2-1.3mm.

Not an option to keep both?

If you only get to keep one, I’d take the black fade-2-yellow. Slightly more fitted, great grain, interesting dye-job.
Not an option no, I'm trying to have a viable active rotation by trimming down my collection, and avoid overlapping jackets.
These here are my "1 Perfecto".

The beltless one is awesome! It looks fantastic and you wear it very well.

Plus, personally, unless a person rides motorcycles, I see no reason for a belt.

The divide is real!

Maybe this will change things: I want a jacket that stands out most from the rest of my black jackets. Least overlapping looks/function.
I already have a heavy rotation of jackets, of which among my black jackets the Lost Worlds horsehide Lightning 402, Shangri-la Varenne steerhide, and The Flat Head deerskin cafe racer, so if I keep a perfecto, I want one that is distinctly different from the rest of my rotation of black jackets.

Tough choice indeed. I used to own Sugar Canes with both types of leather. I remember being overly careful with the teacore one because the top coat is very thin and I don't like the resulting messy effect of exaggerated wear. Thus a slight preference for the belted jacket.

Beltless - that’s the one that meets your brief of being something a bit different.
How so? You'd think a gigantic belt would make it stand out even more vs the Varenne's clean straight zip looks and the Lightning's rough beltless looks.

Awesome, why did you move them along if I may ask?

I say belt one. I do think the beltless fits slightly better but I personally quite dislike the yellowish leather showing up where the top coat has eroded (unless that had been my doing after a long time).

Also, a belt jacket can become a beltless if you decide so.

I think the yellow teacore is pretty unusual and more of a standout for me. Both nice jackets though. I've been thinking of selling my cross-zip (a Lewis Memphis) as I don't wear it as much as the others, but posts like this make me think I ought to keep it in rotation as a genuinely different option.

By themselves, one vs the other, beltless fits better and looks better on you, although I’m not a fan of black teacore, or yellow core in this case.

In the context of your collection, belt seems like the better choice, beltless fits/looks better but lightning looks even better than beltless and the fit on both is pretty close, otoh belt has room to layer, which seems like something you need/want for some occasions.

So imho going with belt would leave you with a tshirt only cross zip (lightning) and one for layering (belt).
