A while ago, I contacted Morten at AVI about a hybrid Cafe Racer with the bi-swing back of the D-Pocket jacket.
He said it was do-able.

Some things were not possible, red rayon lining, painted snaps... So, I tried to keep things simple.
After a few back 'n forths, this is the result... The 'Classic' Racer'.
Black horsehide, brown rayon lining (as on the G-1), two inside pockets, same hardware as on the Cafe Racer.

I understand he will soon be adding this to his line-up!

Personally, I think it's a great idea and 'should' be a very comfortable, wearable 'classic' jacket.
Im a flight jacket guy through and through, but have always been curious about these classic biker jackets.
We'll know more once its in-hand ;)

AVI Leather have been around a while, focusing on military flight jacket repros and a couple of years ago, ventured into classic civilian jackets.
All their jackets are copied off originals in their collection.

Im to be corrected. As I understand, all the R&D etc happens in Denmark and the production is in Pakistan.
Couldn't be otherwise, as the prices are far too reasonable.

I've owned quite a few of their jackets now, and although they are not Eastmans or Goodwear's, they are decent jackets (for a lot less $£)
Their M-422A is insane. Their D-1 is the best priced D-1 on the market and hardware & label aside, is incredible value to authenticity.

I've heard great things about their military line, but the civilian line has been rather underwhelming to me, although the prices are definitely competitive, especially in EU. But I'm glad you are satisfied with your custom CR!
