There is a great thread on repairing moth nibbles. I have had success in filling in the deeper ones that won't sand out with the sanding debris and some fabric glue. This is covered in the thread.
I agree with the consensus. I have a couple of these Canadian Stetsons and the normal dating indicators for US made hats don’t all translate when dealing with hats made under license in other countries. Both of mine were made by Biltmore, and if I was a betting man I’d say yours was too. Looking at the hat In totality, I’d guess it was 1970s, but that’s just a feel more than anything definitive.

I am a leaverQuestion: What’s your preference when purchasing a new hat, do you leave the tag inside your hat or remove it?

And don't sit on it while it's frozenOh, I almost forgot. I wanted to verify the general procedure for negating any tiny livestock that might be residing on/in a used hat, just to be sure I have it right:
1) Place the hat in a receptacle (plastic bag, sealable container, etc.) to protect it from moisture.
2) Place it in the freezer.
3) Forget about it for two to three days.
4) Remove it and allow it to warm up to room temperature on it's own.
Am I missing anything? And does this apply to wool hats as well as fur felt hats?
