Oh, I almost forgot. I wanted to verify the general procedure for negating any tiny livestock that might be residing on/in a used hat, just to be sure I have it right:
1) Place the hat in a receptacle (plastic bag, sealable container, etc.) to protect it from moisture.
2) Place it in the freezer.
3) Forget about it for two to three days.
4) Remove it and allow it to warm up to room temperature on it's own.
Am I missing anything? And does this apply to wool hats as well as fur felt hats?
That’s what I do. It kills moth eggs and larvae on/in fur or wool felt. VS required a three-day deep freeze before I could send them a hat for moth repairs.
