Softenting felt- is it possible to make stiff felt more pliable and easier to shape? My RM hat has a stiff brim, and the crown seems stiffer on one side than the other and its fairly stiff anyway. Seems like an odd question I guess but you don't know if you never ask!
Thanks!

Steam, m'boy, steam!! And then, the presence of a stiffening agent in the felt will likely re-set the felt to however you shape it. Have fun, Xylo!!

What should I do with a stetson one hundred? I have a western one hundred with a 3 inch brim and one or two small moth nibbles on the back brim. It's a size 7. I'm a size 7 1/4.
Should I sell it?
Send it to a brass rooster to clean, restock and resize, reuse the band with a spacer and accept that the brim will be a little smaller, but I'll shape it more as a fedora?
Try to trade it for another one hundred in my size?
I'd like to keep it if I can.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Joe
We can size that up without losing any brim. Changing the shape is as simple as picking the shape you want. A new sweatband and a cleaning you're looking about $60.
