looks like an Alpine hat sold to tourist's
Hello Everyone,
I am new to the forum and am looking for some help with a hat I have. It is a Zapf hat, and the only real relevant information that I have found about was from here. I think that it is long hair felt, but I have no idea how old it is or exactly what style it is. I'm not even sure if it is a men's or women's hat lol. Lastly, does anyone have any idea what it is worth? It does not fit me and since it is in such great condition, I would like to pass it on to someone that will adore it. I have done some research on the company that makes the hat, but have only found general information. Also, on one of the inner labels it says "Tamsweg," which I know is a town in Austria but I haven't been able to find if this brand of hat was crafted there. Sigh lol I haven't had much luck. Here are the pics:
Can anyone tell me where I can purchase a copy of the hat Theodore Roosevelt wore in the Spanish American War? It has a brim pinned up on one side.
Thanks.

Well, the other thing with vintage hats is that there's really no telling how much a hat may have shrunk in the intervening years. It may have fit perfectly 40 years ago, but run a bit tight today. Not that I have a huge collection of vintage Stetsons (just a few), but the only one that fits large is the 100, and I understand from others that this was quite normal for the 100's.
