@torfjord Damn, that shrunken horse looks unique. Do you happen to have a full picture of the jacket?

with a chrome pull e.g

Not sure if that helps date it, however I do have the serial number...

Can anyone please point me at one of these in brass?
The pulls is correct for the 'stop'(?) however seems oversized/awkward mis match design.

Many thanks
Al

does thicker fur = thicker leather too?

For instance, if something like eastman uses 3/4 or 18mm inch shearling, would the leather side ALSO be thicker than something that uses 12 or 15mm like their b6?

Besides leather jackets - and denim I suppose - what else improves with age, increases in value with more break-in/wear? I'm having trouble thinking of anything.

A good wok. A cast iron frying pan. What else?

Why is the Schott 141 in brown look so black?
I asked Google but it linked to the Schott forum, so it's a dead link. Then I again discussed THAT problem with Denise over there. She doesn't seem to care.
So why is the brown Schott 141 so black? Will it break in toward brown, I hope?

No, the thickness of the fur does not play a role in the thickness of the leather.
All my Aero shearlings have about twice as thick leather as the previous 5*. And some of them have shorter fur.
