I'm shrinking out of all of my jackets... What to do? Sell everything? (incredible hassle) Eat more and get fat again? (Easy and delightful)
I miss read it the first time, I’m sorry. Deleted my last answer.

Please don’t sell all of it. Maybe some but also keep some.

I also went through this, from my heaviest at 215lbs down to current maybe 175. I also moved around a lot and would purge whenever I moved. But I still kept maybe 1/10th of my old sized items. Memories, good or bad, are part of our life journey. There are many things I wished I hadn’t thrown away. And body weight training is very underrated. I hope you find it useful again. It’s all I do now.

Does Lewis Leathers send out swatches? I recently acquired a 70s super Monza in sheepskin which is absolutely amazing. I wonder whether their current sheepskin is comparable to the hides they used back then.

@red devil have you ever handled one of their sheepskin jackets?

My green sheep Lewis jacket has the really nice sheepskin. I placed the order back on May 19th, and they shipped it out on July 2nd. So it was pretty recent.

At first I felt the impluse to order another in Sheepskin. But now that impulse has passed, I am back on the track to experience all other leather types first. Your current Lewis jacket is really nice, and I understand the urge to get another sheepskin based on that experience. But there are so many other fishes out there. I'm still trying to find a way to do a Kudu jacket - the cashmere of rough out thats 2.2mm thick

Yes, the last batch I had in hand was very pliable while still reasonably substantial. Had some character as well.

I can only think of Johnson leather who would make you a nice kudu leather.

I really dig that British racing green. Did you get swatches first before ordering? Is it possible to ask for a specific hide. I would love to get a hide similar to this.

That is really nice grain. I didn't get swatches. But that's because I tend to shop impulsively. Looking back the old threads, Lewis Leather sells a swatch book, I think Regius had one.
While I held back on the second Lewis jacket for now, I did buy some merino sheepskin leather 1.8mm from this place:
https://buyleatheronline.com/en/leather-for-bags-craft-binding/338-merinos-aniline-sheepskin.html
And had it shipped to JL for a jacket. If everything goes smoothly it would be just over a month before I can compare this Italian chrome sheep to Lewis' French veg tanned sheep.

Interesting that it's chrome tanned. I thought the italians were all about vegetable tanned leathers, right?

Yes - I have received swatches from them in the past year, and have a new sheepskin Super Phantom in the vegtan racing green - its an amazing leather. Unlike any of the HH or cowhide I have but not flimsy like lamb - it is soft but thick, and needs no breaking in, with a really lovely hand and deep colour to it. Also check out their newer vegtan cow - a sizeable upcharge but that is also another great leather - only in black (teacore) though. Both these hides are far nicer than their regular HH in my opinion. The vegtan sheepskin is really great value as it is the same as the stock HH price and the hide is at least as good or better than badalassi in my view.

I can’t remember your size Canuck panda but here’s a aero kudu 1/2 belt starting at $499. Size medium.

Great find! I think another member here might have scooped it up!
I’ve got an Aero A1 size 40 with this same measurements, but it’s too tight for comfortable wear. As strange as it sounds, I would actually trust the tag size more than actual measurements when it comes to Aero. I know for sure I can do size 40 in 50s block comfortably, and the 30s block never fit me right no matter 40/42/44.

Would You Guys Kindly be able to direct me to some sources for High End Cotton Sateen suppliers for liners in our Jackets. North America and UK please. Was thinking 6oz min, 200 GSM, but do not know if that would even be correct weight for an Cotton Sateen all-rounder, something light, breathable, durable and comfortable. Would be using it in both the Body and the Sleeves.
Your Input appreciated

I have some custom shirts that uses Sea Island long staple cotton. Best cotton in my experience. But I think that would be an overkill for jacket lining. And I couldn't source it myself either.
Most jacket makers will have sufficient lining material. I wouldn't worry about swapping those out. Even if you are wearing short sleeves underneath it'd be best to just go with some sort of silk or rayon for comfort. I would always try to upgrade the leather shell material though.

Silk feels fantastic, but you have to be a little easier on it. Rayon is another favorite for the sleeves- I just ask the maker, and usually they have access to it.

Honestly I always thought rayon was just a cheaper and mass production version of silk, and now Lyocell would just be rayon 2.
If the jacket maker offers silk, get that. Real silk is really nice. But rare material today. Silk boxers were all the rage when I grew up. And now it's all man made synthetics.

Not really an outerwear question, but I am about to have less closet space, so I'll be purchasing a rack to hang my jackets on. Anyone have any recommendations for something that will be able to handle the weight of a lot of jackets? There's a bunch of heavyweight options out there, not sure if one shines above the rest though.
