So I just got a new goatskin G-1 and am wondering if the back should look like this... basically the bi swing back kinda sticks out instead of being flush against my body (both sides.) It's more pronounced when worn unzipped. This is just a random pic i found online but shows exactly what i'm talking about. Is this a common thing in g1's? will it be less pronounced or go away as the jacket is broken in? TIA View attachment 321490
There should be elastic bands in there keeping the gussets tucked in.

The jacket in the photo you posted has several major fit problems, it's way too long and way too wide

Full action back always looks like that and there isn't much that's going to change with wear.

Any US based members purchased items directly from the UK recently (post brexit - or I guess "current brexit iteration"?)

Can't find a great resource to calculate duty levied by customs. Both from private sellers or direct from Aero.

Thanks!

Does this shearling look genuine to you guys? Seller described it as faux fur. It's almost identical to the Schott 212 "mountain man" jacket, and I don't think they ever made it with fake shearling. Still...It doesn't look quite the same as the 212's fur. First two pictures are the jacket in question. Maybe just natural variation? I also noticed this jacket has a "Schott" tag on one of the bottom pockets that is not present on any of the other examples.

This jacket reminds me of something Kristoff from Frozen would wear.

If the jacket fits properly and the pattern is put together to follow the contours of your back, you shouldn’t end up the bulging bi-swing as shown in your picture. My Vanson Oxford bi-swing doesn’t stick out that much. Probably a combo of good fit, pattern, and thicker/stiff leather.

@tamz0r It shouldn't stick out like that. Maybe it will soften as it is broken in, or maybe the elastic straps aren't working properly. Feel under the lining in the back and you should find the X pattern elastic straps that bring the bi swing panels back in when your arms are to your sides. They should feel tight when you pull on them.

So, my British Racing Green jacket is on the way and when looking back through the seller’s photos I notice the aluminum chest zipper pulls have been replaced with brass diamond pulls. I think the brass looks good with the dark green, but should I replace the main zipper pull which is the aluminum color with a vintage brass pull too?
What does the lounge think about mixed colors on hardware?

Mixed hardware works great on the j24. I'm not sure whether it will look good on this Brooks. Personally I'd opt for all brass.

Thing is that the actual zippers won’t get swapped- just the puller.

Or should I hunt down aluminum pulls for the pockets (somewhat less swagger)?

Ahhh The Mountain Man a very rare and special hard to find jacket . I never nailed one but I think I might have seen that tag on a Schott’s European licensee jackets before . Maybe that explain a different version with faux shearling . Schott did have a pocket logo for a couple years in the 80s but I think it looked different. “it was in the mid-1980's we used these pocket logo labels on our jackets. Gail” on second thought it may be the same .

By the way, I just received this blue cafe racer and I've got two more colorful crs coming my way. Maybe we should start a tread on 'colorful cafe racers' :)

Those blues are awesome! This is making it really hard not to order a leather jacket in dark blue.
