Art Fawcett VS Hall of Fame

First: this is not a VS sourced felt. If the felt had been provided and finished by Art et al it would have been nicer.

This Clearwater Hat Company Plantation hat went straight to VS several months ago. I got it cheap and maybe still overpaid...if you know what I mean. Even with such a poor starting point, VS worked some magic and completely rebuilt the hat. Six inch open crown and a #52 block. The brim is four inches as is with the curl so figure 4 1/4+ before the curl. The flat brim makes the with look bigger than it is. The crown was delightfully malleable and the brim is quite stiff. Another great job by VS!

Who says you can’t make a silk purse from a sow’s ear!

I usually don't respond to the "likes" I receive, although I do appreciate them, because I'm just the guy lucky enough to own the hats. Art is the real recipient as I'm sure we all agree. I know Mr. Fawcett is a man of his word but if he were to change his mind about retirement he would certainly be forgiven.

Thanks DH, this hat was never worn. The client had cancelled the order but I missed that fact,made it anyway, and was shocked when he reminded me. Ugg, getting too old for this stuff!!! At least it went to a good home.

It’s a wonderful hat and it fits like it was custom made for me. I’m sorry about your mix up...is it wrong that I also hope for more?

It's amazing how sometimes just sheer chance hands you something so fine. That hat suits you to the ground, and you can't do better than a VS Milan.
