Anyone remember Digger82?

For those of us on the east coast, and in the world of WWII reenacting, Digger82 was a guy well respected for his knowledge and enthusiasm for the hobby. Pete Johnston passed away a year or so ago. A friend found his photobucket account online. I thought I would share it with you. I knew Pete at Dover AFB when he was an airman in the life support shop. We spent more than a few nights on the C-5 talking about the hobby.

I remember Digger. He was also a member on the VLJ several years ago. So sad to hear.
How old was he..and what caused his death? RIP Pete...

Pete, I recon was in his late 30's. All I reaaly know about his death is every time I saw Pete he told me how they took x amount of intestine out of him again. He joined the AF at 28 did a few years and was medically retired. I am usually not so sentimental, but I thought people would enjoy looking at his pictures. He reproduced alot of paper items and cardboard containers, ie k ration boxes, Lucky Stike cartons etc. Plus he was very heavy into reenacting. When he got the bug to do an impression he went all out. His enthusiasm was infectious.

I "talked" to Digger online and he was one special man. We agreed on so many items and he had tons of energy and enthusiasm. He it truely missed.

He had some good info and posts on the WW2 reenactors forum. Never did know what happened to him; I knew he'd died, but that was about it. Thanks for filling in the blanks.
