Any opinions on "Excelled" as a knock around A2?

The A2 I'd gotten was mall jacket rubbish. If you can get it cheap... it'll be something to knock around in.

It is a mall jacket. The same exact jacket that is sold at Kohl's. It is perfect at the Amazon out of pocket cost.


Made in Pakistan. That doesn't bother me.

It is real leather. Amazon description, which is sometimes wrong, says lambskin. Excelled Leather describes it as cow. I am not a leather expert. Lamb is usually soft and supple. This is thick and heavy. I want to say that it's cow.

There are side entry, hand warmer pockets. The inside has a chest level pocket, and a smaller pen pocket, on the left. For me, this is useful. I can carry my license, registration, and proof of insurance when riding a motorcycle.

The jacket leather is heavy and sturdy enough, that I can wear it for motorcycle rides. But it is not as thick as an actual motorcycle jacket. If the fall is enough to shred your jacket......... The knit cuffs keep out wind and rain. Size XXL has enough room for me to lift my arms and reach out towards the handlebars. The knit waistline keeps wind from blowing up into the jacket.

It is a mall quality jacket. The back is not a single piece. The back is 3 pieces of leather like most cheap jackets. The sleeves are 3 pieces of leather. Collar points have snaps to hold them down. Wind flap over the zipper has a snap at the top and a snap at the bottom. YKK Japanese metal slide fastener. Polyester lining with a cartoon like print of a map. Lightly insulated with some sort of synthetic polyfill for heat retention.


I wouldn't pay $400 for this jacket. From Amazon, it was worth every penny at 1/10th of the retail price. And they shipped it to me overnight.
