G W Alexander campaign hat dating from mid 1930's or earlier, for sale on eBay now. Sweatband is deteriorating, but I see the word "Official", so it may be a Boy Scout hat. Seller has it erroneously listed as J W Alexander, and claims it's a 1920s hat, which may or may not be true. Hat has the old or early type of mfg tag.

G. W. Alexander made Boy Scouts of America official hat. The crown is surprisingly not stiff. The ribbon is grosgrain with the fleur-de-lis embroidered (?) on. The silver debossing of Eisner's logo is a nice touch as well.

The G W Alexander factory sticker is from no later than 1932 as Sigmund Eisner was the BSA’s national outfitter from 1910 to 1932. Maybe that helps a little in dating other hats.

G W Alexander campaign hat now for sale on eBay. It has a 1918 military contract date and the mfg tag is different from the earlier ones already shown on this thread. Instead of saying Style and Block, this one says Block and No. For some reason the Alexander name isn't on this mfg tag. So I'm guessing this might be a new earliest Alexander tag type known, unless this is some kind of generic tag put in this hat for some reason, which might be the case. I have at least one Miller of Denver hat with the same type tag, and perhaps other hat brands.

G W Alexander hat. 4 inch brim and 5 1/2 inch open crown. Has no mfg tag, so difficult to date. Maybe 1950's? It is stamped "Hub Hubbell Rodeo Hats". He toured around the Country performing and maybe sold these hats on the side? This might be one of those Alexander Circle A hats.

Article about the G W Alexander Co opening a store in New York City, from The American Hatter magazine of March 1901. Also an ad for this store in the April 1901 American Hatter.

I got this real cheap on ebay. It's a factory crease, but the felt is very soft. I never heard of Alexander hats before, but Frunobulax made me aware of this dedicated threat, so I'm learning!

G W Alexander Boy Scout campaign hat. The texture of the sweatband is the same as on the U S military campaign hat in my post #45 above here. It's not smooth but has a look that vaguely resembles tree bark, etc. This Scout hat seems to date somewhere from the 1910's to the mid 1930's.
